A: I think it depends.   You buy boxing/training gloves by weight.   Usually from 8 oz. (petite female or youth) up to 16 oz.   I bought the 16s for working on the heavy bag.  A great cardio workout.

**Q: Are the oz associated with the actual inside size of the glove? Or are the internal dimensions all the same with just more padding as oz go up.**
A: The oz refers to the actual weight of the glove.

**Q: What oz gloves should i get for a 12 year old ??**
A: Depending on the child's size...probably 8 or 10 oz. to start.
