Mountains: Epic Cycling Climbs Hardcover – 1 Sept. 2016

If you are a fan of mountain passes, with or without an interest in cycling, Michael Blann's coffee table sized book is worth a look. 224 pages of photographs with stories from road cyclings elite - Blann explores the mountains roads of France, Switzerland and Spain used on many of cyclings Grand Tours.Not all of the photographs including bikes though. If you are a fan of Stefan Bogner's work on Escapes (https://amzn.to/2KoGfks) or Curves magazine then you will enjoy this book. Not as in-depth as Bogner's work, Blann's use of helicopters to get good angles on the climbs and the Phase One camera pays off in many of the shots.Only loses a star for the cheap paper sticker on the cover - which leaves a mark and printing in China, which isn't as good as Bogner's books.

My road bike mad partner really loved this book. It's a great coffee table book of well known cycling climbs and he picks it up quite often and talks about it excitedly. There are amazing scenic photos on most pages and just the right amount of writing with good descriptions from personal experiences of all the climbs. At the back of the book are a few cycling stats with altitudes, height, gradients, etc of the mountains. I bought my copy cheap because it was very slightly damaged, but to be honest, it's worth buying at full price. If you have your very own cycling nerd, buy them this book, I guarantee they'll love it!

Gift for a cyclist

Brilliant photography, I've only positives to say about this book, It's a joy to read.

Bought as a present for a man who is impossible to buy for. Really lovely coffee table book and some gorgeous photos.

Received this today. Truly amazing book. A must have for any serious cycling fan. The stories and memories from the pros on these iconic mountains are truly fascinating but it is the stunning photography that will blow you away. Nice to also have the map, data and gradient details for each mountain in the appendix.

haven't finished going through the whole book but so far very good. great pictures.
