Fab with Autism
My autistic son is struggling to read. He loses interest in the usual school books so I decided to give these a go. He absolutely loves them and has read six today. I just wish there were more than 12 of them!

For the American market
Positives. This is a nice set of books which engaged my daughter. They are nice and short and aimed at repeating sounds and ideas throughout the books. The parents guide is great.Negatives. Clearly aimed at the American market. I.e. the man in front of Bertie the bus is carrying a baseball bat, I'm sure that they are more likely to play cricket on Sodor!!Some of the words chosen are just plain strange for early reading. Lug being an example, who uses the term lug realistically? There are so many hard u sounds out there that it just seemed strange to me. Jug, pull, full spring to mind.
