This stand was actually my second choice, and in hindsight, I should have gone with my first choice. I was going with either a legless model or a 2 leg model as I play double pedal bass. At the last minute, after reading several posts from drummers saying as long as you get a swivel leg model, you should be fine. Well after receiving this Mapex model, I could not get a comfortable position without interfering with my left bass pedal. I was considering returning this Mapex model, but I really like it. My solution was to fold up the legs, and purchase a clamp, so it is now clamped to my rack system. It worked out very well. All in all, a very well made model with adjustable tension and a long footboard. I recommend this model but not for drummers playing double bass. The price was excellent compared with most other sites which were $30.00 more. This model is also available in black as well as black and chrome.

Great quality at a great price. Smooth action, fast, built well. I like that the legs rotate for close quarters set up and when using a double kick pedal set up.

I found this to be a very solid and smooth functioning hi-hat. Even the angle of the foot board is adjustable. High quality at a good price. My only criticism is there is a lug nut connecting the foot board to the upper mechanism that sticks out. If you have large feet or play with your toe at the top of the foot board, you will have to deal with an articulating screw rubbing your toe. I fabricated a toe stop. If you are handy or don't like your shoes, no problem. Other than that, this is a great hi-hat stand.
