Also, how dark does it go?** A: There are instructions on the bottle but french polishing is something that takes practice. Luckily, it is always possible to remove a layer that goes wrong with spirit and sand paper. The darkness depends on part on the colour of the wood but with this product you generally get something quite dark. Light pine turns to the shade of cedar and cedar turns to the shade of mahogany. My instructions would be to mix the polish with ethanol and soak into a wad of cotton wrapped tightly in a cotton cloth. Rub the wad over the wood in a circular motion, leave to dry for six hours, sand with a very fine sand paper and repeat several times. Practice is necessary. **Q: Why product photo says 250ml** A: I don't know why, I can't say that I noticed, maybe you should ask Amazon direct. **Q: I have superficial watermarks on wooden furniture did the Rustins French polish repair this kind of damage.** A: As long as it is only superficial, rub the area with malt vinegar first and then use the French Polish - that should do the trick. I would then apply wax polish to the area to complete the job.
