The Curious History of the Crossword: 100 Puzzles from Then and Now (Volume 1) (Puzzlecraft, 1)

It was fascinating to discover these facts about crosswords through the years. I have worked N.Y. Times, L.A. Times and various other crosswords for years but only recently discovered blogs devoted to them and the fact that there are books written about them.

I purchased this book as a gift for a friend who is an avid Crossworder. She has enjoyed it very much. If you are in to crossword puzzles or if you are just interested in the history of things, this is the book for you.

this is an interesting book about the history of crossword puzzles. it contains many puzzles of all levels of difficulty. it's a book not just for crossword puzzle buffs, but one i think anyone would enjoy. i recommend it.

I bought this book for my aunt who is an avid crossword puzzler. She really is enjoying it! She said that she is learning a lot of interesting facts about the history of crossword puzzles and is finding the old puzzles challenging. Just what I was looking for!

I have a crossword lover and gave this as a coffee table gift for her family. Glad the answer key is in back because thefew clues I tried were hints from old usages.

This is a very thorough history of the crossword puzzle. Some of the scanning of the included crosswords is very sloppy. Ben Tausig also has a terrific online subscription website called American Values Club. Worth every penny.

I loved everything about this book. I started crosswords 9 years ago to ward off "chemo" brain and got hooked. This book has everything a crossword nut would love: interesting facts and fun puzzles. To boot, the book is beautiful. Kudos to Ben Tausig.

Although not exactly a page Turner, avid crossword solvers will find this book an interesting read and worth the money. The negatives I found however, we're that the clues to several of the included puzzles we're so small as to make them almost unreadable, making the puzzles nothing more than added space for the book.
