Tepper Efka 0188100 Simple Fix License Plate Holders with 4 Clips, Black

After buying 406mm (16inch) 5 digit 4D number plates I was struggling to find a holder/ surround for the plates, until I came across this item and after reading another persons review I decided to buy them. Arrived next day securely packed.When fitting found out the thickness of my new number plate is too thick to fit into these brackets, as I found out it will only hold standard thickness plates. I had to file away on my plates at an angle at top and bottom to reduce the thickness to make them fit.Hence the 3 stars as they do not advertise the thickness of the number plate it will hold. Otherwise it is a good product easy to fix onto car, comes with screws and also a double sided pad attached to it for double security. Also only comes with 4 screws should really be 8, 2 for each bracket.

I bought these as a back up if the Amazon sticky pads I bought didn't work well. You get 4 holders included, 2 for the back and 2 for the front, including screws.I have metal pressed plates on my car, I had sticky pads holding both the front and back plates in place. The back is on perfect and held nicely. But the front plate didn't hold so well because Mercedes are awkward and the front plate is bent like a boomerang! So the sticky pads didn't hold on the front so I needed a short term fix, I rememberd I already had these holders bought so I decided to use it as a temporary fix, that was 3 months ago.When it's summer the sticky pads might stick better but for now this holder is good enough. It holds the plate VERY strongly, I didn't even use the small sticky pads on the holders, it's just holding the plates by itself. I've done well over 120mph (on a private airfield of course) with these and the plate hasn't moved at all.You can barely even see that they're there too (see photo) so they would actually be a good sticky pad replacements all together.5/5!

They don't work. The clips at the sides have a groove that is too thin for UK plastic number plates, but the product description does not say that these clips will only work with the thinner metal plates.

Won’t fit standard UK number plates

Won't work on standard square edged plastic plates as the groove for the plate to sit in is a V shape designed for the thin edges of pressed Metal plates. Will work great I imagine if you're using Metal plates!
