4.3" Rearview Security System (Rear View Mirror with Built-in Display and Color Camera) HK-4318

Backup camera screen is ridiculously dim as the photo show. The last photo I had to use a windshield sun shade and angle the camera just right in order to barely see the screen. I guess the old saying is right. You get what you pay for. You buy cheap you get cheap.

I have this rearview camera for over a year now and it held up good over time. I installed it in my 98 f150 xlt, and the video cable is a good length for it. No need for a longer cable too.

I received this mirror and camera set in the mail from Amazon but before installing in my van, I wanted to test all the components to be sure everything worked. I bench tested it by connecting the monitor and camera to a 12v battery source and the screen turned on and I got a picture, but the quality wasnt good. There were yellow and blue lines all over the screen and most of the video image was washed out. I took the setup outside, and same results. I have another similar system installed in my truck so I decided to do more testing with a combo of my existing system and the new monitor and camera, but still couldn't improve the picture quality. I contacted the seller directly to explain my issue and see if they could help me before returning to Amazon. Their customer service was excellent and I got a response back almost immediately. They asked if I wanted a refund or a replacement. I decided to give it another try and see if a new one, that they will test before shipping would be better. I received the new set after returning the old one to the seller and I bench tested it out. I had the same results as the first one. I contacted the seller and they told me that they tested it before shipping and it was guaranteed to work. They said they also tested the one I returned and couldn't find anything wrong with the image. I decided to bite the bullet and install it in my van, even though I may have wasted the afternoon and may have to remove it if it didn't work properly. It took several hours of mounting, running the cable, camera adjustments, and testing before getting it all working. To my surprise, the blue and yellow lines went away. Long story short, I should have just installed it in my van in the first place to avoid all this aggravation since it is now working PERFECT and really well. Only complaint is the image is hard to see during the daylight, but otherwise I can still see what's behind me. I must say that I was very impressed with the sellers customer service because it is one of the best I have worked with. Friendly person to talk to and very polite when replying to emails. Also, responds within an hour, when I emailed during working hours. Awesome product and even better customer service from the seller! I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest, unbiased review of the product. This however does not affect my review or how I feel about the quality of the product.

This is something special to have, if you have a car or van that has a rear view that makes things impossible to see you should get this product right away.
