GM Accessories 22817343 Front Center Console Tray Organizer in Black

First, I believe this is a very OVERPRICED piece of plastic. It probably has a value of $10 to $12, but sells for three times that. Every GM truck with a console box should automatically come with this device. And, owners who would rather use the mounting rails for a hanging file can remove the organizer and have their little file cabinet. Not the other way around.The automatic courtesy light that comes on when the lid of the console box is is opened is mounted a little too low, and the height this organizer hangs at in the console is a little too high. So, the light doesn't exactly shine down into the organizer. A small problem, really, and obviously more of an issue at night. But, if the truck is cool enough to have an automatic light in the console box, then it sure would be nice if it actually lighted up the organizer.Otherwise, the design is really good. It converts a big open box into a multi-level storage compartment. The coin holder is removable. The whole box can be rotated 180 degrees so the compartments are switched, left to right. The deeper compartment has a divider that lets you "hide" things in the lower half (extra mags), or take out the divider and use it for taller things (the whole hand gun). You can still store things under it, in the bottom of the console box, as long as they aren't too tall.It's made well, too. Not flimsy. The plastic is thick enough to hold the weight of almost anything you would want to put in it. But you probably shouldn't try any gymnastics on it.

Before I write this review, I need to complain about the price of this item and also note that this is obviously GM price gouging simply because they can. This is most likely manufactured outside of the united states and cannot cost more than two dollars to make. Amazon (via GM) is providing a significant discount over the $80 i was quoted at the dealership so while im thankful for that discount, a $65,000 truck should come with a center console organizer. With this off my chest, Ill write an actual review.The overall quality of the mold is great. The plastic is of a higher (slightly rubberized) quality than cheap plastic organizers and fits the center console perfectly. The sizing of the two bays are adequate for CDs and are just large enough to coil phone charging cords easily for quick storage. The coin tray lifts out for use and secures well, using the same peg system as my previous two Silverados. The center console this is designed for holds hanging file folders to organize paperwork (a seriously genius addition) and this tray does no get in the way of the hanging folder tabs, allowing you to use both simultaneously.I would suggest this product and classify it as a near necessity considering the alternative...a massive bay in the middle of your truck. I have not found it cheaper ANYWHERE else on the internet so this is the pace to get it.

As many others have said, it would be ideal if the Genuine GM Accessories 22817343 Front Floor Console Organizer were included in all GM pickups and Tahoes. I was going to purchase one as an option when I ordered my new 2015 Silverado LTZ Crew Cab. But when manufacturers bundle things up in "option packages", the price became prohibitive. I checked with the local dealer to find out what this would cost through their parts department, and was shocked at their price. I found this on on Amazon for about half the price, with free shipping. The space under the center armrest (models with bucket seats) can accommodate this or the hanging file bracket. You can't use both at the same time. I chose this organizer as I don't use my vehicle as an office. And, now I don't have to rummage around the center console, looking for an ink pen, lip balm, loose change or a few napkins. With that said, each of the compartments measure 5 1/4" X 5 3/8" X 2" deep. A removable lid covers the bottom half of the deeper compartment, making a great "hiding place" to store some of the things you don't need often. The change holder is easily removed, making a third compartment of comparable size. All in all I consider it a great accessory for my new truck.

This organizer fits well in the center console of my 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500HD XLT Diesel 4x4 with bucket seats. The sides of the organizer tray hang from the file folder rails built into the sidewalls of the console. The insert does not interfere with the USB ports or the front storage slot of the console. The hanging edges of the organizer are symmetric so you can place the deep side of the bin on either the driver or passenger side. The deep side of the bin has a shallow removable tray that divides that bin into top and bottom halves. The coin holder is removable but mounts only on the shallow side. I paired this with a "Salex Chevy Silverado / GMC Sierra Center Console Organizer" which divides the bottom of the console bin like the interior of a wine box. The two organizers do not collide so I can use both. This will help organize all the stuff that gets chucked into the "big black bucket" between the seats.

Must have accessory for my 2015 Chevy Silverado. It adds plenty of additional storage to my center console as well as helps keep things organized.Before I would end up with so much stuff in the bottom of the console that I really never new what was in there until I cleaned it out about once a year. Those days ended when I got this. Only negative is that for the items you need that are stored under this, you essentially have to pull this out to get to them. Not difficult at all but just another step.

I think this should have been included in the vehicle to begin with. The middle storage area in my Suburban is huge and did not function well at all until I purchased this. It fits perfectly, is easy to put in and take out if you need to get something from underneath it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it is kind of expensive for just some formed plastic.
