The book is well written and the traditional, fun, slightly scary, but very kid friendly mystery. There are 1-2 nice illustrations every chapter. Unfortunately it did completely hold the attention of my 3 1/2 year old but my 5 year old was very focused on it. It's a good book for children who are beginning to enjoy chapter books or read them independently. I will likely be getting more from this series when my 3 1/2 year old is a bit older and will enjoy them more or for my 5 year old.. It does a great job of holding her attention, written well, good use of words. Printed well, good large bold type face. The illustrations are amazingly awesome, I just wish they were more frequent instead of every few pages. Probably aimed towards kids who can sit and read by themselves.

Great story and illustrations for children starting chapter books/Scooby Doo fans
I bought his specifically for my 3 1/2 year old who likes Scooby Doo. The book is well written and the traditional, fun, slightly scary, but very kid friendly mystery. There are 1-2 nice illustrations every chapter. Unfortunately it did completely hold the attention of my 3 1/2 year old but my 5 year old was very focused on it. Jinkees thats a good book!

We already have several Scooby stories of many kinds. This is the first one of this series and my son (5) is loving it. We read it together because he can't read ... yet... we'll read it again and again.
