I planted it 3 weeks ago and it’s going well so far** A: I am no more than an enthusiastic amateur gardener so do not think my answer is based on any more than experience! I’d have thought that whether to feed now depends on the medium into which you planted your hydrangea (compost in a container; enriched soil; unenriched soil - sandy, loamy, or clay). If it has had some food, I’d leave it for this year since it’s already August and the growing season is coming to end. Start then with food in the Spring. And if it has had no food, I’d scatter some of the pellets (a small handful) round the base of the plant, fork it into the surface of the soil, and then water it in well. And then leave it until next Spring. But whatever you do, don’t relax on watering it! It’ll be trying hard to establish itself for at least a year so even next Spring make sure it doesn’t dry out completely. That’s what I’d do. But I can’t promise at all that it’s the same as an expert would tell you! All the best - and much pleasure. **Q: Hi, will this keep blue hydrangea from changing colour** A: Hydrangeas most often turn from red to blue, rarely the other way round. It would have to soil with very high alkalinity to retain the red colour. Blue hydrangeas are due to high acidity. The feed only helps with health and number of blooms, and, from my experience not the colour. Hope this helps **Q: Hi. what's the npk of this feed, please?** A: Compound fertiliser containing 10% nitrogen, 7.5% phosphorus pentoxide, 10.2% potassium oxide with 3.0% magnesium oxide and 1% iron. **Q: Will this work on blue grass plants? My blue grass plants are barely blue any more** A: Sorry to say I have no idea.
