A great way to get on top of your electricity usage
There's a growing range of choice when it comes to gadgets to measure your electricity consumption. At the measuring end, they're pretty much all the same - a wireless sensor that clips around the live feed into your fuse-box / consumer unit. They've been pretty similar in the display side of things as well, typically an LCD screen that shows current and averaged consumption in KWh.It's in the display that this unit differs. Rather than having an LCD display that you can glance at on your way out of the front door, it connects, via a LAN cable, to your broadband connection and uploads your data to a web-server. Once uploaded you can view, in near real-time from either a web-browser on your PC or an App on your tablet/smartphone. Configuration is simple. Log on to the Efergy website, it will detect the unit on your LAN and allow you to configure it. It took me less than 2 minutes.By uploading the data to a server, a whole load more analysis becomes possible by comparing data over a much longer range of time. Both the app and the on-line dashboard allow you to look at real-time, 24hour, 28-day or 12month history views of your electricity consumption, either looking either at the raw KWh, a CO2 prediction or, if you enter your tariff details, your expenditure. The graphics in the App and the website are all clean and easy to follow with colour coding to help you understand where consumption is highest and lowest. If you want to do more than the basic analysis that the website provides, you're also able to log on to the web and create monthly a monthly summary report with a reporting resolution of either minute, hour or day. Once created these reports remain available for download to enable comparison over longer periods of time.If you've already got an Efergy display unit, this will work with it just fine and as well as seeing your current consumption in the house, you will also be able to view it from wherever you are via your phone. All things considered, it's a very well executed product that will help you gain tighter control on your electricity usage. 5 Stars.

Cheap but still not worth it
Was looking for a web based replacement for my OWL USB and saw this. Thought I'd give it a try as it was only £20, now I know why it's only £20, it's useless.Had it a couple of days now, install was pretty straightforward and the hub and the sensor paired up quickly and getting it all connected to the web portal worked Ok. Readings seemed to be about right to start off with but now regardless of what I switch on in the house it only reports between .19kw and about .24kw usage, that's with a tumble dryer on an electric cooker !!!Just tried to get onto the web dashboard this morning and it all seems to be down, so now can't even see any data.Guess you do get what you pay for. So I'll be sending mine back for a refund.

Good product. does what it says. a prelude to web 3.0 : connected obejcts
The GOOD:- good product. easy to set up. simply plug it, connect to the web site and follow instructions- efficient way to open ones eyes on how we spend electricity.- Very handy to monitor electricity utilisation of your country home (but you will need to create a specific account - see below)- better software than the competition for the same kind of consumer target and price.- already bought 2 of them and another 3 that I gave as gift to family and friends (guys as girls do not really see the point of the whole stuff. possibly a geek stuff)So overall the right product for what it says on the can. More demanding users please see below. The LESS GOOD (demanding users):- if you intend to use multiple hubs because you want to monitor multiple home you need to create multiple accounts (could easily be fixed but the promised software update is late to come)- too bad the daily graph can not be scanned directly from the dashboard. You have to download an history file and then open it in Excel + formatting etc.... Messy and again could be avoided.- if you really want to precisely measure electricity current then this is not the right tool (see you tube video that illustrate this). So good enough to get an idea but do not expect to be able to reconcile your cumulative utilisation against your meter.

Works brilliantly
Great little gadget. Connected easily to our Wi-Fi and haven’t had any problems at all with it disconnecting. The app works well and you can see live data of what electricity you are using. Easy to see what times of the day the most energy is being used and what electrical appliances are using the most. Would recommend

good starter
good affordable product did alot of reading about product before i purchased and experience was as expected , does what it says on the box , very easy to set up with minimal difficulties , configuration was also easy just ensure you use high quality batteries , the receiver hab connected flawlessly with my router and no technical know how was required (plug & play) , the web based monitoring and pairing was also fairly straight forward and the pc experience is fairly impressive , my only disappointing aspect was/is the mobile app on iphone its terrible should i say the least and has not been updated in years , if only Efergy can look into this

I was a bit concerned after seeing some of the negative reviews for this product but I can't fault it so far (after 3 months of owning it).Very responsive (it sends a new reading approx. every 10 seconds) and the online viewer works well. I can't judge the calibration as I have nothing to compare it to.Very simple to install.
