Beautiful - A Spiritual Lullaby
One of my favorite CD's. I enjoy playing this very softly while I sleep. I'd recommend it highly for anyone interesed in that, adding soft background music to a shopping place, or even playing it to relax an infant. In fact, I think it would be wonderful for that.I never have used it for meditation as I do that in silence. I can see easily how this CD could be used for that with great success, but if like some of the others you are looking specifically for a meditation CD I'd suggest shopping around. I believe, however, that anyone who meditates would be delighted to have this music in their collection. In fact, in addition to calling it a spiritual lullaby perhaps one could call it a meditation luxury.om mani pame humKonchok Samten

A bedtime treat!
A friend on Amazon steered me to this lovely relaxing CD, and I haven't been disappointed. It starts with the gong of a temple and moves gracefully into very lovely calming music.I particularly like listening to it before bed. Sleep experts say routines are good but, being one of those people always in search of just a little more fun before the day ends, routines kind of struck me as a drag. Listening to this is a habit that is both fun and soothing....when the gongs start sounding it immediately puts me in a calmer headspace.Would also be good for meditation and yoga.

I would like to have at least the translation so I can ...
I am thoroughly enjoying this CD. It alternates between unison men's voices and women's voices with subtle background accompaniment. There is an 8 page insert describing the background of the CD, but it does not contain a transliteration, or translation. I would like to have at least the translation so I can better appreciate what I'm hearing. The transliteration would make it easier for me to chant along with them.

Beautiful, relaxing, perfect meditation music!
This is my all-time favorite CD outside of my fave musical artist. I love the rich tones, the soft and subtle changes, the powerful relaxing effect it has on me. It's not just "sleep to it music"; in fact, I find better stuff to sleep to since this engages my brain. It does promote relaxation and free thought. I can study to it, meditate, relax. It's great with incense or a hot bath. Highly recommended!

Such a beautiful sound
I have had this CD for several years now and still love it as much now as when I bought it. I practice Tai Chi and first heard the tracks at a Tai Chi class and knew I just had to buy it. I play this CD while I practice or when I just want to sit in a relaxed meditative state. I totally recommend this product, it is beautiful.

Not exactly as expected
Kind of disappointed . It's just some very repetitive Asian music with female singing . Type of you would hear in Asian restaurant . I don't hear much chants but it is peaceful and as one reviewer said it would be good for shopping place or to put baby to sleep . Just not what I was looking for .

WONDERFUL album!
Absolutely wonderful musical listening experience. I visited a Buddhist temple in Haensa, Korea and had the opportunity to hear a temple full of Buddhist monks sing their chants. This album replicates that experience. If you want to get into the zone, buy this album. You will not regret it.

Beautiful Music For Meditation...
Essentially this is a CD compiled of two tracks that are long [23 mins] and really long [48 mins approx]. This is perfect Meditative music as you can hit play and just lose yourself in the music and essentially be caressed by the accompanied chanting. It's a very polite style of singing rather than chanting but it is exceptionally beautiful in my opinion. Recommended for Meditation but also to have on as background music. Many thanks to Amazon for steering me towards a CD I am very pleased to have heard.

All that Glitters is not Gold!
I was looking for something to aid me in meditation and eventual sleep, so when I saw the cover of the CD it looked as if it would fit the bill. However, I wish I had believed another review that I read.I was hoping for the spontaneous but sonorous rich dark tones of individual monks, or even the "throat singing for which Tibetan monks are known, accompanied perhaps by gongs and chimes all adding up to a sense of peace and tranquility. Having looked forward to its arrival I listened to it immediately and very quickly realised in the cold light of day that I was not going to find any solace. If on the other hand you easily fall asleep by being bored, then this is the CD for you. Although it was executed with a huge degree of accomplished, metronomic performance, it was as the previous reviewer had said, two sets ofrepetitive verses lasting approx 70 minutes. No feeling of anything resembling spirituality, - perhaps the words themselves told a story, but even they were to remain a mystery to me as the listener. Despite the fact that I had read a review, I felt really ripped off and disappointed. Glad I didn't pay a lot for it.

Not my idea of Buddhist chanting - recommend previewing the CD
The first track was good - a nice mix of chanting and minimal yet skilfully placed music. If you were asked to imagine Buddhist chanting, this is probably what you may think of. But it's all downhill after that - the tracks get strange, quite monotonous. The overall effect started to grow into irritation rather than relaxation, and to drift further and further away from Buddhist chanting and into "Chinese elevator Muzak" territory. Both my girlfriend and I were disappointed.By all means - it's impossible to review content like music, books and film without disagreeing with someone's opinion! This is just the feeling we got from this CD. If you have the opportunity, I would very much recommend previewing the CD first. We have not listened to it once, after the first time...

Enjoyable
The delivery was delayed but I received an explanation which was acceptable. The CD arrived a few days later. The music is excellent and I really enjoy it. However, before you buy, you should know that there are two tracks and they are songs. That means you get the same tune repeated several times, with different words (I assume - I don't speak Chinese). That sounds worse than it is - I play it a lot and enjoy it now as much as I did when I first received it.

Hits the spot.
I don't pretend to be an expert on Buddhism and its music but I love this album. I have a very wide taste in music and will listen to anything from Hendrix to the Corries and all points in between depending on my mood. This Buddhist Chants and Peace Music album is totally different to anything else that I have in my collection. A friend burned a copy for me several years ago but it has become scratched. I was delighted to be able to buy it again as I listen to it frequently. I especially enjoy listening to it through my iPod headphones when relaxing in the garden or late at night prior to getting off to sleep. My wife sings in a choir and she uses the album in quite a novel way. She sings along with it to help her breath control. She swears by it.
