They follow him and discover he lives in mad scientist Orson Eerie's old house! And he's building a strange machine! Who is this substitute teacher? Is he trying to free Orson -- to somehow bring him back to life for real?! Sam and his friends are about to find out! Review: {My thoughts} โ Iโve come to love these Eerie Elementary books - {My thoughts} โ Iโve come to love these Eerie Elementary books. In this one Samโs class ends up getting a substitute teacher. The teacher ends up being a relative of Orson Eerie the guy that possesses the school. The three hall monitors Sam, Lucy and Antonio discover the new substitute is actually on their side. Because of this the four of them work together to try and undo what Orson Eerie had done all those years ago that had allowed him the ability to make the school come alive. If youโd like to know what happens youโll need to read the book. Like the previous books in the series, I found it to be very much engaging for the reader. I look forward to reading more books in this series in the future. I recommend this book for any beginner reader that is interested in slightly scary stories. Review: My 3rd grade son loves these books! - My son is 9 and in 3rd grade and hates reading but LOVES this series! These are definitely some of the only books that we have found which he enjoys! One of the first times he read one he said โWHAT?! Iโve been reading for 20 minutes?! It only felt like 5!!!โ Thank goodness! They have a very cute and imaginative story line! I feel like they would be suitable for all kids, especially those needing a slower transition to chapter books...they are chapter books, but they have a picture every 2-3 pages which my son loves! Great for 2nd and 3rd graders...or a higher level 1st grade reader!

Great series!
This book is part of a series for Eerie Elementary. I found this series by accident, but after reading the first book to my third grade class I was hooked. The kids were as well! They loved it! That was a few years ago and I read the series now every year. I love how it is fast paced, but easy to follow and understand. It is something the students can latch on to and mantain the interest. It is great to help build comprehension in my struggling readers. The arthor even included questions in the back of the book. In this book the kids get to meet a relative of Orson Eerie, Jasper! It answered some previous thoughts we had from the earlier books. We are ready for the next one!

Great for kids learning chapter books!
This series is the favorite of my daughter (7yr). Sheโs finally starting to get into chapter books and these are perfect for that, not too long but not too short. She reads them in about 2 days but thatโs because once it arrives she never wants to put it down!

Great books!
It has taken some trial and error to find the types of early chapter books my 7yo daughter was interested in. She didn't like the unicorn/princess type stories that seem so prevalent for young girls right now. She has always loved science, space, mystery and adventures. That being said, she LOVES this series. Her aunt gave her the first 3 for Christmas and she read them all that first weekend. I just purchased the next 4 books and she has already read them all (two last night!). Definitely a wonderful, engaging series for those early chapter readers.

Great series for reluctant readers!
My son loves this series! Before starting this series he was more of a reluctant reader and primarily read nonfiction. Now he can't put the books down and is reading all the time. He's now on book #7!

Big fan of this series
Just love these books. Great for the young reader interested in starting a chapter book and great for the parent who wants to listen and follow along. I have all of the books in this series and hope the make more. The kids are independent and think on their feet, the have close calls and creative solutions for their problems. Keep them coming.

Son loves this author!
Bought this and all of the other books in this series for my son as Christmas presents. He had never read them, but loves this author's other books. My son is 8 years old and is in 3rd grade. He loves the books but said they are little below his reading level. He likes to read them between tougher books as a "break" ... Love this author and none of his books have ever disappointed.
