Cot Bun Bo Hue Style Beef Flavored Soup Base, 10 oz.

Love the flavor of this so much!!!

I recently moved down south and the closest authentic Vietnamese restaurant is an hour away. There are a couple more americanized spots but they don't sell Bun Bo Hue, which is by far my favorite dish. So the other night I thought I'd just make my own. Well, there were a number of ingredients that I couldn't get my hands on. So I did a quick search to see if there were any alternative methods which is how I stumbled upon this product. I knew it wasn't going to be the real deal but I figured for the price, it was worth a try. And WOW, I am impressed!! It's great as is but I like my Bun Bo Hue a bit spicier and sweeter so I doctored it up a bit with a few ingredients I had on hand. SO GOOD and HUGE time saver! Give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

It's a good product but it makes a very large batch! Since there's only one spice packet, I have to use it twice because I only make half at one time since using the entire mix would be several gallons. The flavor is very good, however.

Which I think is the goal, but definitely tasted different from the pho I've purchased from restaurants. Not sure which is more authentic, but this makes a TON of broth, so be prepared to freeze some if you don't share!

Is it easy? Yes but but it lacks depth of flavor and was so salty I ended up just pouring the whole pot of broth down the drain. Just make your chicken pho from scratch. This is not worth it.

Great starter for your pho. Just add water, chicken, onion, ginger, and your favorite toppings.
