Dungeonology

This is a beautiful book, but poorly described and not at all suitable for the intended recipient - it is a pop-up book and does not appear to have much detail included for an experienced GM. I've had to return it, but unfortunately not before inflicting great disappointment.

Bought this book for my 10 year old son for his birthday. He loves it but it's definitely a kids book, a good introduction to Dungeons and Dragons and the Forgotten Realms. It looks great as a book with many good illustrations.

Something for kids, nothing to do with playing DnD or world building as the cover/style/title would lead you to believe.Nice way to introduce my kid to DnD, useless for anything else, feels more like I paid for an advertisement of DnD.

A really fun way to introduce kids and adults (with no RP experience) to the world of Role-playing Games in general, and specifically D&D. Great purchase. :)

Love the multiple stories

This is a great book in the style of the "Ology" books - ie, Dragonology, Wizardology, Vampireology etc etc. Thus, it is in no way a replacement for DnD source books such as Forgotten Realms Campaign Guide. It is a child friendly book full of exciting fold-out pages and beautiful illustrations and text that will inspire children, and possibly encourage them to take up a 20 sided dice.

Somewhat of a let down. General lack of useful information. This book covers information found in the other 5th edition books, but in scant detail. Looking for source material for your campaign? Look elsewhere.The only positive is that the book is beautiful.

Mas o livro é fantástico, gravuras, dobras, absolutamente tudo - menos o conteúdo - merecia 10 estrelas, e não 5. Acredito que o público-alvo desse livro seja pessoas iniciantes no RPG, buscando que, através dele, se sintam mais interessadas em buscar maiores informações sobre Forgotten Realms. Uma pena que isso não tenha ficado mais claro no discurso de venda dele.

In a sense, this is not a gaming book. Unfortunately, this is not obvious. However, as the owner of several other 'Ology books, I had an idea what to expect. It's a combination intro to the world of Forgotten Realms for non-players, and a sort of player reference book to keep at the table for people to admire. It can even be useful as a player aid for a game set on the Sword Coast, and contains the sort of 'common knowledge' that character should have, in an easy-to-us (but not detailed) format.It's a beautiful book, too, with lots of pop-up features and things to open. I recommend it, so long as you know what you are getting.

I bought this for my daughter for christmas and she loves it, as other people have said please know what you are buying. This is not a rule book this is light the other -ology books, it is not a DnD game supplement.It would be nice if there were more flaps and fold outs and neat add-ons, there is not quite one per page and that would be ideal. The map in the centre of the book is awesome, I stole the book off my daughter while we were playing Storm Kings Thunder so we could plot out locations on a large colour map.All in all, it is a great introduction to DnD for someone that is interested in learning about the world of the game and not the rules of the game.

Dungeonology é um livro todo em inglês, extremamente bem acabado, com detalhes lindos e conteúdo interativo. Seus textos visam apresentar os conceitos básicos de D&D (qualquer edição, na prática) a um jogador novato. Não é um livro denso ou com muitas páginas, sendo de rápida leitura, Recomendo para colecionadores, mestres que gostam de apresentar o jogo para iniciantes e iniciantes em geral. Não é recomendado para quem busca apenas regras (não há regras no livro), números e tabelas.

Yeah this was a big disappointment. It's Forgotten Realms specific and contains a lot of fluff information regurgitated from other books. The pop-up elements are catchy, but not practical. This is the sort of book that's great to see and flip through at the book store, or wanted a present for someone who's never played D&D and you wanted to lure them in. This is not so useful if you wanted to, say, enrich your campaign.

Das Buch ist sehr schön aufgemacht mit dicken, bunt gestalteten Seiten, teilweisemit Büchern im Buch (über Drachen, Abenteuer in den Forgotten Realms oder einSpellbook).Es ist kein Buch zum Spiel mit einem spielbaren Abenteuer, sondern eine Informationssammlungaus unterschiedlichen Quellen nett zusammengestellt um zum D&D-Spielen zu animieren.Am Ende des Buches gibt es ein tolles Hologramm und eine große Karte der swordcoastentfaltet sich auf einer Seite.Das Buch ist hochwertig und robust verarbeitet und meiner Meinung nach sein Geld wert,aber man braucht es nicht zum Spiel.

Great fast read for new players who want to Learn the Forgotten Realms basics without a bunch of long winded lore or stat tables. Beautiful illustrations and fun pop up map. The tone is clearly amied at children which is a downside so I knocked off one star for that. It seems to be written for a 7 or 8 year old, which makes sense as that’s about the age I started playing D&D.

Gorgeous. Good for either a collector, a youth or new player. It's pretty much the simple version of the players hand book. A lot of the pages have interactive items. Like a fold out map or pages that flip. It's beautifully made.

Da giocatore di altre edizioni mi aspettavo il solito manuale invece è arrivato un libro per bambini, non per teenager e men che meno per adulti, con una meravigliosa mappa pop-up dei Reami che si dispiega aprendo il paginone centrale.Per collezionismo sfrenato o per un regalo ma assolutamente non essenziale al giocatore hardliner del gioco vero e proprio.

Ich liebe die Ology-Serie des Templar Verlages. Die Bücher sind liebevoll gestaltet und jeden Cent wert.Für alle, die nichts über Dungeons & Dragons wissen gibt es erste Informationen und Tips. Und für die anderen ein amüsantes Buch in ihrer liebsten Phantasiewelt.

Este livro faz um panorama dos elementos essenciais do jogo e do cenário Forgotten Realms. Não se aprofunda muito, mas faz um apanhado de artes legais e apresenta textos divertidos em inglês. O mapa da Sword Coast, em pop-up no meio do livro, é bem detalhado e muito bonito, dá vontade de destacá-lo!

El libro está muy bien impreso en papel de alta calidad y con pop-ups y adornos que ledanvifa y traen cierta nostalgia infantil. El contenido es muy bueno y tiene un inserto de unaini guía como un plus adicional.

You want to hook your kids or the kids of your friends to D&D, this is the book for it!It describes the life of an adventurer is wonderfully illustrated, all in all, totally enjoyable! Now just have to wait for the kids to grow up!!! :-)

good book, not as thorough as I expected. the D&D universe is huge and this skims the surface. it has many pop up and interactive pages that a young reader (~9+) might appreaciate.
