Good...but....
Gazette have come a long way since their debut release in 2003 (and subsiquent album in 2004). The raw, harsh, grating vocals faded out in Stacked Rubbish (2007) and the guitar's quickly become smoother. Larger, more orchestral sounds are frequently used, and the hint of Linkin Park-esque rap is now a thing of the past.Dim has some ground breaking songs. Truely awe-inspiring. The single "Leech" is epic, yet still other tracks take the podium. A great blend of instruments and vocals, of rock and orchestra. So why is it missing a star? Dim is a 17 track album. Or so they want us to believe. Actually, only 9 of those tracks are "real". The other 8 are interludes. In parts, there are actually 2 interludes, one right after the other. Some of them are refreshing, a welcome break to the grind. Others...others are of a distorted child's cry. No thanks.I find myself skipping the interludes more and more with every listen. Oh why did they bother throwing in so many fillers? I would of been far happier with 45mins of bliss rather than 60mins (59mins 14 seconds) of on/off.Still, well worth the money. Definitely an album to buy.
