It is brilliant.
This is the best bit of housework kit I've had. It arrives in a very well designed and packed box. So simple to put together - the top half of the upright clicks easily into the base. There is a small amount of charge in the battery to enable you to have a quick go immediately. The battery is beautifully slim and clicks easily in place at the back of the upright handle. You can leave it in place to charge it up from the mains with the lead provided or if it is more convenient to move the battery to a charging station then it is dead easy to unclip the battery. But the real joy is the vacuuming job that it does. I have a small dog and dogs always seem to bring in bits of grit, dried bits of leaf, general detritus on their paws. Well a quick whizz round with this lightweight beauty and my very pale stone coloured carpets look fresh and lovely. It is so easy and light that I don't mind getting it out a couple of times a day if necessary. Just bliss. And you don't need to keep emptying the little dust capsules. After the first vacuuming I thought I'd have to empty it but, no, there was still masses of space and no loss of suction so that it could be left for a further several cleans. Buy it, buy it, buy it. Just one proviso. It obviously doesn't have any nozzle extensions (I know they are now advertising the extra hand held gizmo to go with the system) so I have kept my Miele cylinder vacuum to use maybe once a month if I want to do deeper cleaning, behind furniture, up the curtains, etc. But my clunky, heavy and ineffective Dyson is going down to the tip next week.

Based on i am super fussy and pick faults with everything
Purchased this as i live in a 1 bedroom flat and figured it would be ideal for zooming around after the kids. After reading all the reviews i took the plunge and thought id give it a try. Ok so had it about a week now and what do i think of it. Based on i am super fussy and pick faults with everything. AMAZING!. This thing picked up more dirt in 1 session than my old vac did in a year. Id barley got to the second room when i noticed it had stopped picking up, opened the collection tray and it was jammed with fluff. after a quick empty It then picked up the same amount again from the next room. Ive never seen a vac pick up like this before its super. Its actually smaller than it looks, very light, surprising quieter than i thought it would be. Easy to use. The battery lasts pretty well, can do my flat about 3-4 times on 1 charge. You will find yourself emptying the collection tray quite often, not because it is to small, but it just picks up everything in its path, even stuff you cant see. But there is no messy dust involved as it compacts it into 2 squares. Just lift it out and tip in the bin. Done is seconds and ready to go again. So far after about 5 times i have collected and entire carrier bag of dust and fluff, unreal. You will need to tap out the filter outside after every couple of uses, well worth it as it keeps it on top form. Cant find ANY negatives about it at all, superb machine. Only 2 minor gripes i can find at all is after doing some online research i found out the drive gear is made of plastic, and could potentially strip if you get something caught in the brushes. Rendering it useless. Weather this has been addressed on newer models i dont know, but have had no issues with this one as yet. Also NO usb cable included for connection to your pc for analysing. And apparently you cant use a normal cable, really should be included, they want £20 for it, no way. should be free. But if you buy one, you will not be disappointed.

GTech AirRam Vacuum Cleaner
Vacuum arrived 3 days after order so very quick service. I've kept the box, packing in case of returns as Alan (YouTube) advised (worth watching before you buy). First time i vacuumed, within seconds it had picked up and twisted my phone charger cord round the brushes so first thing is to make sure nothing is lying around that can get sucked in, and be careful of vacuuming places where you can't see what's there. I doesn't like rugs with fringes, will screech and stop working until object is removed. Phoned GTech, got through very quickly, they checked my details and said someone would get back to me today or tomorow. Meanwhile I typed in 'GTech brush replacement' and came up with the solution to extracting the wire. Just unscrew the four screws on the brush unit, pull side guard off and remove brush. I only had to unscrew two screws (the brush is in two parts) and extract the wire and put back. Great. Resumed the vacuuming. Stairs were so simple to do, light, with no cord to get in the way and when I want to wheel it around there's no need to bend the handle, leave it upright and just tilt back and it rides along almost on its own. Handle too is brilliant, it seems to bend around wherever you want it to go just by a foot press on the top of the unit so easier to reach places you've never gone before. 4 green LED stripes went down to 2 in about 15 mins but that was okay, I'd about finished 3 rooms, a landing and two flights of stairs - and suction was still strong. Emptying the dustpan was a revelation, so much fluff, hair and dirt. I fastened the fluff onto the chicken wire on the walls of my shed so the birds will have something for their nests. All round I'm very pleased, better than those hulking machines I had to drag up and down the house and easy on my arthritic thumb as its light and easy to manage. It looks good too and so unobtrusive it actually blends in with my wallpaper. I'll keep an eye on its progress over the next few weeks, months and report back! Meanwhile, I love this new appliance, with the little recommended maintenance its worth looking after.

Good - but not quite as good as they claim
I have now had my AirRam for over a month so I think I can write a reasonable review of it. I bought it having read all their adverts saying it was the best vacuum cleaner ever and I really wanted something effective as I have three hairy cats and two hairy dogs so I did know that whatever I bought would face something of a challenge! It is indeed very light and easy to use, it can also go very low making it simple to get under chairs etc as I whizz round with it cleaning. It took about four hours to charge initially and I find a full charge lasts me almost a week using it each day to do the main areas of the house. It is so easy to use that I do tend to use it daily as it takes minutes to use it and it does a pretty good job of picking up many of the 'bits' that seem to appear from time to time. I also love that it switches from hard floors to carpets without any adjustment and the brushes are excellent for picking up small bits of dried mud that get walked in when the weather is bad. I don't find it as noisy as my Dyson which means the cats tolerate its use rather better another plus point in its favour in this house. On the downside with three cats and two dogs I do find that I need/want to empty it each time I use it and have never actually followed the maxim of only emptying it when it stops picking up. Similarly the filters seem to get very dusty very quickly and rather than washing them once a month (as suggested)I find I have done them twice already as they were very dusty. The advice is to tap them when you empty the cleaner and I do that (over the dustbin outside as it makes a LOT of dust) but even so they do seem to pick up a lot of dust probably because of the weather at the moment as the dogs walk in quite a but of dirt on their feet. Sometimes on the hard floor I find it is depositing the dust back on to the floor which is a bit annoying. The brushes do get full of cat hair and again I need to pull that off probably once each week. Cleaning and maintenance is easy enough but a bit of a chore compared to the Dyson. Overall I do like the AirRam and plan to keep it but to be honest I don't think it is the best cleaner ever for my situation. Admittedly it does have to work hard because of the pets so for a home without them it would be just fine. I do miss the fact that it has no tools available as that limits the tasks it can do. I love it lightness and ease of use which are huge plus points as far as I am concerned but I do find myself getting out the Dyson once each week to give the carpets a thorough clean and reach the inaccessible places. So in summary I love it but I am not convinced it is the best cleaner ever, it is good but not quite that good in my opinion!

It's true... what they say...
Well... we have had the Gtech AirRam for about a week now and I think it's fair to say we have given it a good trial in order to write a balanced review. First off, I wish I had discovered the AirRam 6 hoovers ago, because that's how many I've got through over the past two years. All of them have either been murdered by the children ( RIP the last one, Choked to death on lego), or they have simply lost the will to live..... much like me after trying to battle for an entire morning with a vacuum that weighs the same as a small family car and is equally difficult to reverse park. This little genius of a gadget is brilliant. It twists and turns with ease, ( a bit like me after a couple of sherbets on the dance floor) and it has so far coped with all our floor types and I can carry it with one hand. The charge lasts well and it is so small and compact that storage space simply isn't an issue ... especially as we are yet to actually put it away a single time, but we have been able to step by it with ease unlike previous machines which became quite hazardous. I will just add, I have noticed one or two reviews stating that it isn't so great on long pile carpets. Sadly, we aren't rich enough to have anything long enough to bury our toes into so I can not comment on this specifically. I also noticed a few comments about the noise. I personally don't think its any louder than the combination of our regular hoover and me swearing and shouting because of the aforementioned weight and reverse parking issue. Now onto my most favourite feature.... the dirt / dust collection. It is FABULOUS! Whilst I have always warned my children about deadly things such as the occult and black magic, one can only logically come to the conclusion that this hoover does in fact work by magic......I have no clue what witchery Gtech have used, but somehow it takes ALL the muck that my old hoover used to (reluctantly) attempt ( wheezing like a bag pipe all the way) to suck up and stash in its cylinder measuring a metre square... and squashes it into a space that is SMALLER than a standard size Ferrero Roche box!! And the curious powers don't end there! Emptied it today, walked outside with the 'magic box' in my hand, wind blowing, tipped it straight into the outside bin.... NO face-full of dust!! One final note, having ploughed through hundreds of reviews both here on amazon, and argos and trusted review, I also spotted a tiny % that said they didn't think it was any good .... now I'm not a technical person, that probably comes across in my reviews, but I think I am qualified enough to say that perhaps those people should try switching it on. Electricity is the way forward. Excellent machine, easily compares with the Dyson Animal ( which my Mum has and supervises my Dad using) but a damn sight cheaper.. which means more money to spend on shoes. Its a win win!

Gtech AirRam Cordless Vacuum Cleaner - BRILLIANT
1ST UPDATE = 3 YEARS LATER Just thought I'd pop on a quick update. Mums AirRam is still going strong and as good as new (she doesn't use hers as often as I use mine, which incidentally has reached the end of its life). Mine was heavily used (nearly every day for the last 3 years), coping with my waist length hair and two kitties .... but has now given up the ghost. It worked extremely effectively right up until today when it sounded as though something "twanged" inside the machine and its now stopped working and sounds like a pneumatic drill. Unfortunately, I didn't bother with the extended guarantee (although reading between the lines, I think "wear and tear" doesn't count anyway). However, I'm still sooooooo impressed with this machine that, today, I've ordered (through GTECH) the updated version "mk2 K9" ........... I saw this vacuum advertised on the telly and thought it was just what my mother (who's approaching her 80s) needed. It looked lightweight to handle, but not a lightweight in the execution of its work! I'd read the reviews (1 star to 4 stars first, as I wanted the "negatives" first) and then read through a great deal of the 5 stars (too many to read them all), but the reviews made my mind up for me and I sent off for one. It arrived within a week, and firstly, I have to say the assembly was soooooo complicated (not). It took about 15 SECONDS to pop the handle in place and pop the battery in. Mum wanted me to test if first (before I took it 'round to her) so I put it on charge, and within 4 hours it was fully charged and I was raring to go!!. Cooeeeee, it breezed 'round the house. First upstairs, great, it goes right up to the edges, which my own VAX and DYSON don't do (yes I've got them both). It happily did the bedrooms and bathroom and landing (Oops, I forgot to do the stairs, so can't comment on how easy it may/may not be here). It happily did the living and dining room and the kitchen, and I was super surprised as I'd only hoovered a couple of days before with my trusty dyson (mmmmm). It still had two "bars" of charge left (which by my reckoning, means I could do it all again on one charge!). I emptied the dust cannister ...... which was completely FULL and COMPACTED into two bales and incredibly easy to empty into the bin (no dust flying around here, it was all super compacted). I DID have to clean the brush bar afterwards (I have waist length hair as well as two cats, and we're all moulting!!). There's a really useful "groove" on the brush bar to enable you to run scissors down the length to cut anything spooled, which makes it easy to pull out any hair/fluff that accumulated, and if you "up-end" the cleaner and lean it against the back of a chair, its super easy to clean (you don't need to bend down, or scrat about at floor level, if you're less mobile .... mum in mind here!) My own thoughts (with regards to those people giving it 1 star to 4 star ratings for poor suction and not picking up) is, if you CLEAN IT (depending on what its picking up) every time you use it, it will be 100% efficient with every use. Also, if you use it more slowly, instead of rushing, it makes a huge difference. Having done this, I took it 'round to my mum (as it was bought for her), gave her a quick lesson on how to use it, and off she went. She cleaned her carpets downstairs, emptied the dust compartment, up-ended it against a chair, cleaned the brush-bar off, dusted it and put it away for next time. Mum also mentioned that it's great that she can clean UNDER her furniture without having to move it (her DYSON BALL can't do this), which means, in her late 70s, she doesn't need to drag her furniture around to hoover any more ... and this, for her is brilliant too. Oh, I've also been on gtechonline this morning and registered it for its 5 YEAR GUARANTEE ... yes, 5 year!! Personally, I can't find anything to fault it with , I'm so pleased with it, I'm going to buy one for myself too!!!

But I have got to say that this is THE best vacuum cleaner in the world bar none
I don't normally come on here to leave reviews as a bloke in my 40's. But I have got to say that this is THE best vacuum cleaner in the world bar none !!! No tools yes!...but as a household cleaner it's the best ever. It's VERY lightweight & Cordless !!!! (which means it gets used much more by everyone!), it's very well built, steering works a treat. But the best bit for me is that it cuts out all the unecessary pipework which gets blocked and just literally 'rams' the dirt into an easily removable container, into two small 'bales'. it's so simple to empty you find yourself doing it after every clean. The thing even fits in the diswasher. As far as charge goes, i gave it a 4 hour charge when i got it (comes half charged) then usually bang it on for a couple of hours when the level drops to two (of 4). Never had an issue with battery power yet. The motors run at full power even as charge drops. The battery is easily removed so it can be charged elsewhere. As it's so compact it's so easy to clean, just put it on your knee or a table and extract all the hair and long fibers you get around the roller. This is normally what 'kills' most hoovers lol....bloody women !!! :-) ...some nail scissors or a craft knife can help clean the rollers. I would highly recommend this product to anyone !!

good pick up
It does what it advertises, good pick up, light weight and well made BUT, and the reason it only gets 3 stars is: There is only one customer maintainability action needed and that is to wash the filters once per month and you would think that the designers would have made this maintainability task as easy as possible (Dyson does a wonderful job on the design for maintenance of all their products). However after washing the task of refitting CORRECTLY the two filters is extremely difficult. The filter need to be forced into slot around the perimeter of the base assembly and the filter rubber edges always ride up in one area when seating the other end of the filter. It takes considerable time to get them seated properly and it is very easy to think that they are seated only to find when reassembled that dust clouds out of the filter box, requiring another disassembly and difficult slotting in of the filter. Trust me this is not a petty complaint I have an engineering background and I am amazed where a company gets so much right in their product can have paid so little attention to the only task expected of the customer. You are rightly chasing Dyson with this product but no cigar on the filter box - it needs a redesign.

No funciona. this product doesn't work.
A product that doesn't work, a post-service department that ignores all your messages to return the product until the 30-day policy is reached... an absolute embarrassment for ethics in business and for on line distribution.
