Messengers of Faith Talking Jesus Doll

I purchased this figure for toy photography (and also as the subject of a video) because I was looking for a Jesus action figure that would be the same scale as the 12 inch Marvel Legends and Star Wars action figures I already own, and this is a pretty good scale match for those figures.An interesting thing about this figure: I think the body was created for something else. Jesus comes with no accessories other than his outfit, but his hands are articulated to be able to hold items, and the trigger finger is articulated separately, as if he were meant to hold a gun. I expect the body was originally made for off-brand GI Joe style figures.Another interesting thing is the packaging. The box is your standard early 2000's package with metal ties holding the figure in place and a hole in the back to try the speech function, but there is no plastic window on the front of the box to protect it from dust, dirt, or grubby children's fingers.PRO: Great articulation. You can put Jesus in a wide variety of positions for whatever you are using him for. Strong speaker: Jesus speaks loudly and clearly. Clothes are well made: Jesus' outfit feels well made, and while the intentionally fraying around the edge of his robe might be a weakness, the clothing does not feel like it would tear too easily.CON: Weak ankles. It is not that the ankles are fragile or break easily, but Jesus can not stand on his own. If you want him to stay in a standing position, you will need to employ some sort of doll stand. Eyes are too close together. It took me a few minutes to figure out what I found off-putting about this figure's face, and it is simply that they have sculpted his eyes very close together. No off switch. There is no way to turn the sound off except for removing the batteries, and the button is placed in a location that you will hit it accidentally when moving the figure. Price. This figure can be a little expensive. I paid $40 for this, but when I originally looked at it, the only seller was asking almost $200, and that is WAY too much for this figure. I am not disappointed in what I received, but I would not have spent more than $40 on it.FINAL: If you want a decently made, extremely posable Jesus Christ action figure, I cannot say that I have ever seen a better one, just make sure you don't spend too much on it.

This is so nice! My 7 year old grand daughter just finished her first bible school, and wanted a Jesus doll for her birthday. I didn't know they made them! She is thrilled with talking Jesus, and I'm happy to give her talking Jesus.

I ordered this doll twice and both time the doll was damaged and in non working conditions. Horrible experience all the way around

I received talking Jesus in time for christmas for my five year old son. He loved it and so did I. The doll is very movable and quotes scriptures!
