Tonewood Amp
I have just received my Tonewood amp so haven't used it much yet but it is a very neat, well made little item and works really well" Such fun to get these effects, reverb, delay, leslie, plate, overdrive etc from an acoustic guitar with no plugging into outside amps etc and with no trailing wires etc Just a great invention that will give hours of fun on one set of batteries! [I ordered a recharger elsewhere and it came with a continental plug so have had to return it sadly!!] The normal batteries seem to last well though if you buy good quality heavy duty ones! The seller, Promenade Music has been fantastic to deal with and answered my pre-purchase queries very swiftly and usefully and when, after purchase, I had a problem with the X brace that goes inside your guitar to magnetically attach the Tonewood, they replaced it right away so I give them five stars as well as for the product as they have been a really terrific firm to deal with! The X brace is quite fiddly to insert inside your guitar where it then lives permanently but very unobtrusively and allows the actual Tonewood amp to clamp onto the outside of the guitar on the back magnetically where all the effects can be simply dialled in There is a very good online instruction book which I downloaded and printed out which I would advise doing as it takes you through all the steps of setting up and using the Tonewood in clear simple terms which is a great help! The Tonewood can be easily fixed on and off your guitar and does not require any modifications to fit and leaves no marks on the guitar as it's all done with magnets! A very clever concept and I would highly recommend this little device for any acoustic guitar !It's tons of fun and gives some lovely effects that will enhance your playing no end ! Just adding this as I have had the little device for a few more days and tried it out by taping onto various guitars to sample and it really is such a great addition to any acoustic guitar adding another dimension to its sound and your playing but also wanted to say that differing sizes of guitar give different depths to the effects so fun to try it out using masking tape to attach it temporarily if you have more than one acoustic and see which guitar it suits best to your ears! This is a great little gadget and very much more than a toy as another reviewer suggested it was] It's a seriously good piece of kit that you will get great enjoyment from and is simple to use and very unobtrusive! I love it!

Turns your guitar into a super-acoustic. It actually delivers the goods.
The idea of the Tonewood Amp sounded amazing but I was afraid the actual sound might be a bit cheesy. But it isn't. It actually sounds great. You can certainly push it and make it an "in your face" effects overload experience, but even then it works (though that approach misses the point for me). What this device does really well is deliver nuance and detailed subtle texture which is more of what I'm after. With the gain & parameter controls you can tailor the sound to suit your taste and with judicious blending open up a whole new sonic world. The experience of wandering around the house with the reverb or Leslie shimmering along with you is very novel and I confess that it is still so novel that I haven't yet got used to it enough to take it for granted. I now have a super-acoustic! I've got the LR Baggs Anthem (dual mic & under-saddle element) and it works just fine with either or both. It does make the guitar louder (you can actually feed the pickups into the guitar without any effects if you want, thus self-amplifying) so I may have to alter my playing style slightly to play a bit softer to balance with my un-amplified voice. There are only two downsides. One is that even though the attachment is non-invasive, nonetheless you have to affix the magnetic brace inside with double-sided tape (but with an LR Baggs inside anyway it's just one more piece of scaffolding in there). The other is that it does add a bit of weight - but it would have to, wouldn't it? Having said that, I don't find that it interferes with my playing at all (I play standing up). If the idea of an unplugged pseudo-electric super-acoustic with roaming reverb appeals to you, this device actually does deliver it. I haven't used it in DI or IOS mode, so I can't speak for it in that regard. Check out the web-site and understand what's involved before purchase, but if after reviewing the details it looks like something you want, then get it. It does what it says on the tin.

This turns a very basic electro-acoustic guitar into a very responsive instrument
This product has several reviews on Youtube that I checked out before I bought it. I also bought a cheap new Tiger electro-acoustic as a test bed for it.The Tonewood amp is very well designed, very well implemented and "does exactly what it says on the tin!"Needs some time at first to tune out the feedback resonances, but that is why it has two separate notch filters, separate frequency and notch depth.I have several guitars and the Tonewood can store all settings for separately for each of themNot used the iPad interface as I don't do Apple stuff.Need to change the strings for nylon, the guitar has a Piezo pickup. This should work, the TW amp is very sensitive with separate input 'gain' and main 'volume controlsAlso waiting for 1.6 volt Ni-Zn cells that the manufacturer recommends.Thoroughly recommended to turn a very basic instrument into something special with fx box built in.I am enjoying it!The limit of 'volume' is

Fantastic .. worth every penny
Fitted to a nylon strung Yamaha Electro acoustic. Fantastic sound. Easy to install. Only downside is quite expensive but appears to be really well made. Down loaded the online manual which gave very clear installation & set up instructions. Especially like the Hall effect setting.

This amp sounds great. Does exactly what it says. Lovely presettings. Easily programmed custom settings. Decent battery life depending on battery quality obviously. Easy setup. But most of all it makes me play more often. I love it...

Dont waste your money
Useless mushy effects and loads of feedback even with the notch filter, you are much better off buying a decent amp. I used to have a device which attached a physical spring to the guitar which worked better
