Intriguing Story But Too Quick Conclusion
FINAL DECISION: A more complex version of Palmer's standard formula which I enjoyed with the exception of the too quick resolution of the problems between the hero and heroine.THE STORY: Colie Jackson falls hard for her brother's friend J.C. Calhoun. Colie ignores, however, J.C.'s differing values and his distrust of women. While the two get close, J.C.'s past keeps him waiting to be betrayed. When he is told that Colie has been cheating on him and is pregnant, J.C. rejects Colie. Years later, Colie returns to town and again sees J.C. The two have to work through their past while Colie is in danger from a criminal gang because of secrets only she knows.OPINION: This book has Palmer's standard formula: innocent woman misjudged by man angry and mistrusting because of lies and a past woman's actions; he breaks her heart and then realizes he was wrong and they reconcile. One thing I really liked about his book was the time it took in J.C. in reforming himself. That was different than what I have seen in Palmer's books in the past.Longtime readers of Palmer will recognize one of her enduring formulas. These characters are what you might expect except that Colie has more determination and self-reliance than I expected. J.C. is the expected jerk as the book begins, but he also goes through a three year struggle to change himself.I am also a big fan of how the story works out through both J.C. and Colie working through their own faith struggles. (Readers who don't want to read about characters who have religious backgrounds and struggle through life and try and connect it to their faith and God should probably skip this one). The problem that kept this book from being rated higher was that, for me, the resolution between J.C. and Colie was too quick. There needed to be more time or more discussion or more groveling. Everything between them seemed to be fixed within only a few pages and I needed more to resolve the years that these two spent apart and the magnitude of what occurred.Despite this, I enjoyed this book as a whole.WORTH MENTIONING: I enjoyed seeing characters from prior books.CONNECTED BOOKS: WYOMING WINTER is the seventh book in the Wyoming Men series but can be read as a standalone. The book is also connected with the Long, Tall Texans series if you have read the series otherwise the connection is slight.STAR RATING: I give this book 4 stars.NOTE: I received an ARC of this book via Netgalley in order to provide a review. I was not required to write a review or to write a positive review. All opinions contained herein are my own.

Need for the skillet
Wyoming Winter:As usual I absolutely loved the story Diana wove for us. Also as usual, I wanted to take Tippy's Skillet upside J.C's head...several times. Sometimes harder than others. His arrogance and disrespect and disregard for Colie, had me gritting my teeth several times and I had to stop myself from throwing my Kindle. Having said all that, there was, as it always turns out, he had a reason for thinking and acting as he did due to horrific childhood experiences. However, I kept hoping he would have known better and acted differently. It may sound like I disliked this book, which could not be further from the truth. I like a book that grabs ahold of me, shakes me up, gets me spitting mad and then.......well let's just say I forgave J.C. Not as easily as Colie did but that's how things should be.Christmas Cowboy:I read this one a long time ago. Still enjoyed rereading it and visiting the Hart boys again. Seeing how a tough guy, who claims he'll never love or trust a woman, fall for and want to protect one after he has misjudged her and treated her so cruelly, like Corrigan does with Dorie , and what transpires afterwards is a interesting experience all over again. The saying "Oh how the might have fallen" certainly fits both J.C. in the first book and Corrigan in the second.I highly recommend to his book to long time Diana Palmer fans and those looking for an author whose work is a wonderful journey.*Inside note... Tippy's Skillet is needed for almost every male MC in every book. 😉 They do redeem themselves but a little smack from the skillet always helps them along.

Not my cup of tea
Well, this one is a good deal over the top. In Ms. Palmer’s way, this one is very prescriptive and marches to the same tune as all her other books in this series. No redeeming “wow factor” here. The over-the-top-part? Ludie. Her dialogue is completely ludicrous for a “slightly older than two-year-old.” As is her precognitive bent. It’s completely unrealistic and not believable—even for fiction.

Sweet...
Both stories are sweet romances, a little predictable, slow in spots, but great reads when you feel the need for a sweet romance. Diana tends to be kind of preachy, one story had quite a bit of that. The other has more humor than preaching. All in all, a fine book for distracting the reader on a dreary day.

Wyoming Winter
JC was set in his ways and had been wronged too many times by people that he trusted to give his heart to the one woman that truly loved him, Colie. When she decided to take the chance and live with him, she didn't tell him that she was a virgin. Instead of confessing all, she kept it and her subsequent pregnancy a secret. But she finally rallied her courage to tell him, but her brother and his drug dealing friend got to JC first. Of course he believes the brother and tossed her out. Much later his brain cells begin to function as he finally figured things out. But it's too late.

One comment
I love Diana Palmer. I read her books over and over again, and her stories have taken my mind off some very hard times. I'm grateful for it.There is one thing Ms. Palmer does, though, that consistently drives me up the wall. Her heroes, under stress, claim they are going mad.Eleonora Duse goes mad. Sarah Bernhardt goes mad. Gloria Swanson and Joan Crawford probably go mad, too.But alpha male cowboys do not go mad. They go loco. They go crazy or insane. They might even lose their minds, or go around the bend. But they don't GO mad. They GET mad.Just sayin'.

Wyoming Winter
I enjoyed this book about a religious woman and the man she falls in love with who does not believe in marriage. It was nice to get an extra short story at the end of the book.

Sorry cannot comment as above explained.
Sorry it has been a while since I read it so cannot comment specifically. Know I like the series with some of the same characters . I read very fast and then over it again later.
