Just how tightly woven it is.
Screen is made well but, that resulted in me finding it was stiff and difficult to shape they way I wanted to.

It is working fantastically well and cleaning is easy.
The order came in well packed and on time. I wanted this product to act as a prefilter to my DIY filter for my 9'x3'x3' Discus tank. The length of this product was 6" longer than I need and I worried that it will unravel if I cut it. When I received it the first thing I notice was how soft it feels and that the end (edge) that I would need to cut was open (not specially breaded) and when I rubbed it with my fingers there was no unravelling. Then I worried if water will pass through it fast enough that there will have no backing up. I ran it under the tap and water passed through it seemingly unobstructed. I cut the product to size and spread it over the floss I use as a prefilter (which I wash regularly). It acts as a mechanical filter and stops particles from passing through while allowing the water to pass. Cleaning involves removing the product and spraying it from the underside. It is working fantastically well and cleaning is easy. Will buy again and highly recommended.

Might have tears
Very fine mesh, but expensive. Even impedes some water pressure. Arrived like someone had stabbed the roll, so there are deep crease marks all over with some small pieces of metal coming off. Not sure if it's actually torn, but seems like it will still work for my application.

Sturdy
Metal detecting.....it was purchased to sift ground rock to attempt to remove gold flakes. It is sturdier than it appears, plus is light enough that entire family can help and enjoy hobby. Needed as fine as possible plus durability. Seems to be holding shape well; despite it has enormous abuse, water, rock, sand and kids.

Quality steel mesh
Used the woven steel mesh to cover reptile and amphibian terrarium tanks with breathable layer to prevent humidity...highly recommended!

Perfect for what I needed. I made jumping spider containers and the air flow is just right. Cuts easily with scissors.
