Ladybird First Favourite Tales: The Complete Audio Collection Audio CD – Unabridged, 6 Nov. 2014

This is a wonderful collection of Ladybird Stories which I bought for my 4 year old daughter. Whilst she loves listening to them with me by her side, she doesn't like to listen to them alone at bedtime as they can be a little scary. For a slightly older child, this wouldn't pose a problem, but for younger children it's something to be aware of. I highly recommend this collection for car journeys - my daughter sits riveted in her car seat and loves to chat about the stories afterwards!

Traditional stories for children. My daughter has been listening to the first CD every night for a couple of years. Only downside is the volume to the music in between stories, but doesn't bother her.

Well there are plenty of stories here and they are generally nicely told. However some of the sound effects should be rethought. Do we really need to hear the sound of pigs squealing just as the pigs get eaten in the three little pigs? It should also be noted that in these versions characters do die rather than escaping that fate as they do in some versions. That hasn't bothered my four year old but might some children.

Ideal for grandchildren

Lovely collection of classic fairytales. My son loves listening to them before bedtime and will often fall asleep listening to them.

The narration and sound effects weren't as enthusiastic as I'd hoped but it's mildly entertaining for my son. He's only two and a half though so hopefully he'll enjoy this more as he grows older.

My two girls aged 3 and 5 love it. The narrator is very clear and good, and does a great job with his different voices. The sound effects for Red Riding Hood is a little scary as what one of the other reviewers mentioned. One feedback is that the list of stories should be printed at the back of the CD instead of being in an insert within the box.

Love these stories - not too long and perfect for car journeys. I would prefer the big bad wolf didn't occasionally give a menacing growl and it's quite irritating how loud the music is (turn down volume) then how quiet the stories are (turn up volume) and repeat for each one!Having said that my 3 year old daughter loves these and is always asking for them. We no longer need to put on a video except for really long journeys yay!

Fabulous set of stories.Worth the purchase!

excellent story telling and very good sound

My two year old daughter loves these. She puts the little c.d. in her player and presses play and sets and plays while listening to her story c.d. when I am making dinner. The stories are pretty close to the familiar ones I remember growing.
