COLIBRI FIREBIRD VOLT - SILVER FINISH (JET LIGHTER)

Very disappointed with this product. Bought this lighter as a Christmas gift for my husband. It worked initially and he liked it so much he just kept it for special occasions, however, his delight was short lived as it stopped working after a few uses. Contacted the supplier and they gave instructions as to how to rectify the problem, which after going through a long process 3 times realised it just wasn't working. Arranged to send it back. More problems as Royal Mail don't handle lighters as they are prohibited mail. Smoking Ideas advised me to send it 2nd class recorded which I did at a cost of £3.90. The original product plus postage was £16.93 and with this extra £3.90 I was out of pocket by £20.83. They have advised me that they are only refunding £12.95 leaving me £7.88 out of pocket. Really annoyed as this is the worst customer service ever. Faulty products should refund ALL postage costs. Requested same, no response! Him! Speaks volumes..

I have been using throw away lighters for many years now until I saw this one, and ordered it. It arrived very quickly and was beautifully packed in a presentation case which also contained the instructions and guarantee.The lighter is very good looking and very solidly made. I spend quite a lot of time outside in all weathers including some very strong winds. The lighter will work in any conditions and has not let me down once. Also the window in the side of the lighter is very useful for checking the gas level. I have found that the gas lasts a good long time in this lighter, especially if you put the lighter in the fridge for half an hour or so before filling it. This enables you to put more gas in at each filling.Finally, one reviewer said that he found the lighter to be very fragile after he dropped it onto concrete. I would suggest that there are many items that would not function terribly well after suffering this fate. I believe that the secret in these cases is not to drop such items onto concrete, or indeed at all if possible.I am delighted with this lighter and would highly recommend it.

Excellent buy. Still going strong after daily used for several weeks already. One of the best feature is the transparent window to see the liquid level. Very useful when going for long trip as you do need to refill the lighter before taking off.Impressed with the built quality. One of the best buy.Update Jan 2013This lighter break upon impact. I accidentally dropped it on a hard cement floor, it leaks. Just like that... Very fragile item. Handle with care.

I got this in March 2016. It seems a bit flimsy with the plastic parts not being solid. Three months later and it stopped working. I can hear and smell the gas coming out when I press the button , and I see a small spark but no flame. It takes at least 10 tries to maybe light once.Another worthless product. I will opt for either 1 pound cheap lighters or for a more high end electronic.I am i starting to miss my zippo?...

I think i must have got a dodgy one :( Doesn't always light first time! The flame adjuster is full up and there's hardly any flame,and yes before anyone asks! Its full with gas!I'm on amazon as we speak looking to purchase another lighter as this has totally let me down.

So far so good, and it doesn't use as much gas as I'd expected it would. Looks good and feels solid, but perhaps a little too heavy for ladies purses!The only downside is that it is a little temperamental if you fiddle with the fine adjustment. It can be tricky to fine the exact point at which the flame ignites properly again. For me that takes the one star away from a full rating.

I like the little window showing the fuel level before I leave home (nothing worse than wanting a cigarette outside and the lighter is empty). Only thing is, it is made up of a number of external parts, it looks a bit brittle and could break if accidentally dropped.

on receiving I filled this lighter up following the instructions supplied in the box, it would light but immediately go out,I contacted the suppliers who came up with a different way of filling it which included tapping it on a hard surface.it now seems to work now and again but only at full blast.After many emails to smokingideas they wanted me to send it back for replacement at my own cost bringing the total price to nearly £22 which this lighter is clearly not worth so I have decided to put it all down to experience and keep on tapping it.my rating of this lighter and smokinideas customer service - crap
