Magnetic Pocket Wallet Chess Set

I bought this after being very satisfied with the 27×14 cm brother. This one is a pocketable version that I can carry around everywhere I go. It’s just about bigger than the size of my wallet, but it still fits (probably not a good idea to put it in your back pocket though. It’s an excellent board to carry on the go because you can fold it up at any time and resume the game later, and there is space to put the captured pieces so it never gets messy.One slightly weird thing is that the printing is quite a bit offset from the middle for mine, but it doesn’t affect the functionality at all. The overall build quality is still excellent.I probably can’t recommend playing on this board regularly because of how tiny it is, but if you know what to expect from a board this size, I would say go for it.

I did not think I would like this or think it would be of good quality based on other reviewers. I can say with out a doubt this product is amazing, the pieces stay in place where you left them and the so far the images on the disks have not disappeared. I bought it for my long waits to go on set, I can now work my strategies and patterns out, best bit is that fits in my pocket without fuss. If you were playing a fellow friend the game can be paused folded up and restarted anytime and the pieces would stay in place. Outstanding value and product.

Honestly I I struggle to use this to play on but it is a flat pocket set so you know that you are going to have upside down opponent peices when you buy it.( if your playing another person that is)Where this really excelles for me is for study. it fits inside a chess book almost perfectly and when set up so all the pieces face me so it looks identical to a computer chess board and since that is what most of us are used to looking at these days it's brilliant..Take book and board to work set up a puzzle / position leave the book in my locker and take chess set study in between jobs.Nice compact set will be buying another in the future

This Magnetic Travel Chess Set is one of the best I have seen. Its compact overall size means that it will slip into the smallest of pockets when travelling. All chess pieces are clearly designed and unmistakeable. The board is well spaced and marked for Algebraic Notation. The overall case consists of three overlapping flaps, two for the board and a third is a "parking area" for removed pieces with a pictorial representation, so that you can put the discarded pieces in a neat and logical order. I have seen magnetic travel chess sets up to three times in cost of the asking price for this one and there was no comparison in the design of this one. Finally, Excellent quality and value for money.

I bought this to accompany my chess books as I learn to play. I'm a beginner and wanted a set to carry with me to play out games and set up positions from my books. The set arrived within 2 days in excellent condition. It's slightly smaller and thinner, when folded up, than my android phone - which makes it perfect for carrying in my pocket or inside a book. It opens out to twice the size with an extra useful panel to put pieces that are not being used. The pieces are magnetic, easily identifiable, easy to move and stay in place when it is folded up (meaning you can leave a game or position to continue later). I highly recommend as a chess companion from complete beginner to grandmaster.

It's exactly what I need it. My Father is a chess coach and he need it to prepare for tournaments or reading books when he is traveling.The quality it's great the pieces are staying on the board with out to fall from the board even if it is upside down , you have a place which is magnet where your pieces are staying which help to prevent from loosing them.Can fit in your pockets with ease is the size of a wallet .And on top of that they give you really interesting chess magazine with the order. Awesome for the price !

I thought I had received something rather nice when the quite large jiffy bag came through the letter box almost before I'd ordered it. Turned out that inside the jiffy bag was a folded-in-half complimentary issue of 'Chess' magazine. Very nice - thanks very much. What a shame that the pocket board itself that was hidden out of sight inside the magazine as if in shame was such an ugly, lop-sided piece of plastic tat. You really would expect something better of chess specialists. I will have to completely trim the poor thing and re-back it to turn it into something actually useable. J'adoube.

I really do like this. It will fit just about anywhere, the magnets are good, two extra queens and taken or unused pieces sit on their own magnetised flap. Like a previous reviewer I too would prefer the bishops to have a proper icon, but don't let this put you off, just mention it in your review and maybe with enough groundswell chessandbridge will get the message.
