As, to follow the cycle of the tides, one cycle of the clock must take 12 hour 25mins, it follows that the time period between the 'High' and 'Low' points on the clock face and the next [5hr] point will be 1hr 12.5mins while the remaining graduations should be 1hr apart. As can be seen in the photograph, the spacing of the graduations on the clock face correctly indicate this.

Excellent tide clock
Excellent tide clock, with the correct adjustment for the lunar calendar. It was lighter than I expected and came neatly packaged in a plain box. I don't know how accurate it is, since this was bought as a gift.Would have given this five stars if it had included a battery (I needed to buy one - AA size - to put in the box before gifting it), and if the instruction leaflet with interesting information about tide clocks had not been randomly folded and squashed inside the box - a small booklet would have been nicer, since I imagine people might want to keep this with the clock.

As classy as it looks - and different.
What do you give someone who's just moved into a house by the sea?Had to be something a little different and preferably a talking point. Well, this is just that.It's not garish nor is it overdone. It actually looks just as cool out of the box as it appears here. Great artwork - and simplicity itself.Will it change their lives?I suspect notWill they suddenly be out-and-out nautical types? Tide Clock
This is an open faced tide clock. Basic design but I like the yacht scene and it complements the style of my regular clock I have on the same wall.Note that unlike many of the other tide clocks featured on Amazon, this model is one of the few with the hours correctly scaled on the clock face. wonderful
Love this tide clock. Have only had it a short while. It seems to be very accurate. Have two dogs and live near the beach so very useful. Would recommend it to anyone who spends a lot of time at the beach like I do. Read some of the write -ups and all appeared very happy as I am.

Was well received
I brough this for my Dad who is a keen fisherman. Once it was set (which has to be undertaken when there is a full moon) it has proven accurate for well over 3 months. Not knowing much about tide times I was nervous about getting him this but he is pleased as punch and swears by it.

Tide clock
Bought this for a present for husband (who is difficult to buy for). He likes it, it looks attractive and is great for telling tide times, which is particularly handy as we live by the coast.
