reliable. dependable and take the time to know this before you purchase it
Great alternative when you need to restrict access and don't want to carry a key around. Works well. This is the second such type of lock I have employed to good effect. Reliable. However, it is a little hassle to reset the combo as the thing needs to be removed from the door. Also, the width of the keypad is not wide enough to completely cover an existing door knob hole. This lock is better suited to a part of the door where there was no previous door knob. In other words, keep your existing door knobs and install this as a deadbolt. If you know how to install a door knob then this is a fairly easy installation. If you have not installed a door knob, then this could be a headache.

solid, well-built, but definitely . . . lack some precision
I have bought more than 20 of these over the years to use on apartments we rent. They are solid, well-built, but definitely from CHINA and lack some precision. For instance, often if snugged as needed, latch will no longer release. I have long been unhappy having to have them sit a little loose. And when they were sold at Chinese prices (1/2) current list, they were a good deal and mostly held-up well. At that time, still a good value. As price inches closer to $50, I will start to look for USA designed products that meet more precise manufacturing standards. Not bad over all, but not if price keeps inching upwards!
