They are easy frames to but together with the included plastic foundation and the included nails are sturdy enough not to bend when hammering them in. I have only had them in the hive for a week but my bees seem to have started making comp. In the past I have had mixed results using plastic foundation some times my bees will build good comb on them other times my bees will only build bur-com. I have also used completely plastic frames and the bees did really well with them too.

I needed this product so bad, and I’m a total newbie. I didn’t know what to expect, instructions were very clear, which made putting my new frames together simple! It takes a little time but is well worth it! #learning something new!

I should have returned these when I got splinters in my fingers while putting them together (heavy early flow caught me with my pants down so I needed them NOW) . My bees would rather build burr come between the boxes and between the frames than use this plastic. I pulled them out and cleaned the burr comb off (the wood splinters like crazy) and painted them with a heavy coat of wax that I melted from old comb. We'll see if they will use it now but I don't expect these frames to last long (based on how it splinters when scraping burr comb and propolis off). Thought I'd save time by having these at my door the next day and not taking time to make a trip to my local bee store. Lesson learned.
