No it won't, it's Freeview not Freesat - it works off a TV antenna NOT a satelite dish

I don’t use a stick I record onto a hard drive recorder.

if you are using the set top box as your only form of free view you can only watch the program that is being recorded, but by routing the ariel thro the set top box into a tv with it's own free view. you can record and watch other programs at same time.
