Traditional Cocktail Swizzle Stick aka le Bois Lélé from Martinique

After 10 months of fairly consistent use at home I'm comfortable recommending this swizzle stick for a home bartender. I've probably used this stick to make between 80 and 100 drinks with crushed ice of various sizes, although the stick definitely works best with finely crushed ice and not larger chunks or cubes.I noticed at least one other review mentioning how fragile the stick is, but I'm not sure that any non-fragile options are available (until someone starts making these out of metal). That being said, I haven't had any troubles: I've treated the stick fairly carefully, washing by hand and storing it in the cardboard tube it was mailed in. There's been no cracking, peeling, or breaking yet, so I'm happy to recommend it for home use.

In short, the unit I received was sub-optimal. These are natural items, cut from branches / roots. It happens. I returned the item and ordered another.The details: As a bartender, I’ve always loved the true, traditional Swizzle stick. It makes frothing a drink a work of art. This item is indeed the real deal, but the mixing end of the stick was so thin and fragile I knew immediately that it would eventually break.As I said, every item is unique when dealing with naturally cut swizzle sticks - no big deal. I’m hoping the replacement will be a sturdier, much improved example.

If you want to make authentic Tiki swizzle drinks, you need an authentic swizzle. This is it. Good quality, arrived quickly, and does the trick. Seems durable, but I use it carefully as it is a natural product. My guests love it and comment positively as a swizzle up a cocktail for them. Great fun!

Piece of crap. Basically the thinnest cheapest piece of crap on earth. It broke in one day. Any other swizzle I have had, has lasted at least six months with daily use at a busy bar. Please save your money or spend another dollar and get the cocktail kingdom one.

Too fragile. It’s literally a piece of twig. That you pay $20 for it. Went through few of them but can’t find good one.
