## Description

From the manufacturer Welcome to a world of colour. Unleash your creativity with DYLON Hand Dyes. DYLON Fabric Dyes are the easy way to add colour and create your own style in your home and wardrobe. From all colours bright and beautiful to rich and intense shades, with DYLON you have all the colours of the world to choose from. These fabric dyes for hand use are perfectly suited for smaller items like shorts, vests, gloves or scarves, and for delicates, you'd rather not put in the washing machine like wool and silk. For perfect, long-lasting and intense colour results. Sustainability - The dyeing process with DYLON with 3 warm wash cycles consumes 60 litres of water. The production of a single pair of new jeans consumes about 8000 litres of water – primarily for the production of cotton and the irrigation of the fields. How to use 1. Weigh dry fabric, wash thoroughly and leave damp. Using rubber gloves, dissolve the dye in 500ml of warm water. 2. Fill a bowl / stainless steel sink with approx. 6 litres of warm water (40oC) Stir in 250g (10tbsp) of salt 3. Add the dye and stir well Submerge the fabric in the water and stir for 15 minutes. 4. Then stir regularly for 45 minutes. Rinse the fabric in cold water before washing in warm water. Always read full instructions before use. Type of fabric Cotton, linen and viscose are perfect for dyeing. Mixes of synthetics with cotton, linen and viscose, as well as delicate fabrics (wool and silk) will achieve a lighter shade of colour. Pure synthetics and fabrics with special finishes (weatherproofing or file retardant) will not dye. The weight of fabric One sachet is enough to dye 250g of fabric to the full shade or up to 500g of fabric to lighter shades. Use multiple packs to dye larger quantities. Fabric Weight Guide Shirt: 250g Jeans: 600g Bath towel: 600g Double sheet: 600g Double duvet cover: 1.2kg Pair of curtains: 2kg (Approx)

Review: Easier than expected - The process was much easier than expected. I use two sachets of the Dylon powder to dye three pairs of jeans which according to the instructions wouldn’t be enough but it seems to have worked really well. They were quite faded jeans and I did leave the items in the solution for a lot longer than what it said. I let them dry And then washed them a few days later so that the colour had time to properly sink in. I’ve not worn them yet but they look great. Highly recommend- easy to wash off when I got some on the bath. I did it in a bucket in the bath. Also I did not stir them as often as suggested but I think the fact I left them for ages made a difference
Review: Good dye. - A good dye but the fabric we used it on is fire retardant and it did not take well because of this.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How to mix**
A: Mix in a pot of hot water...always good to add a bit of salt...helps it from staining anything else

**Q: Is this ok for washed out hoodies**
A: Hi. It depends what colour you want the hoodie. If you want it black, DO NOT use this dye. It's labelled as black, but is intact a very dark indigo blue. I dyed a couple of shirts and it didn't work, they just came out a really horrible dark inky blue after drying. I read the reviews and nearly all said the same. It's a pity because they're usually a good dye made by Dylon. But I wouldn't use the black again.

**Q: Could I used this to dye my vertical blinds?**
A: Probably not its quite crap to be honest I wouldn't even dye a top for me 0/10.

**Q: If I have an item that's bleached in one spot, will this dye make my cotton garment one, even colour again?**
A: I found this was a very weak dye and it didn't colour the cushion cover I used it on, the effect was a slight shade. It may well work better on a small area to cover.

*by A***Y on 5 June 2016*

I needed to dye two small items - a t-shirt and thin cotton trousers. Instructions say to use 400ml of water, which might be enough to cover a pair of socks but not much else! You have to leave things covered and soaking for one hour, stirring every so often. So, I added enough water to cover both items and swooshed as required, ending up with very dark navy. My items were less than a pair of adult jeans in volume. I did add table salt to facilitate the dyeing process. I wasn't amazed at the colour intensity but acknowledge I used more water than I was meant to - but frankly, you'll have to. Save money and buy a much bigger packet.
