[Tested & Reviewed 7-9-16] Great little LED's
[Tested & Reviewed 7-9-16] 100pcs X Super Bright 5mm Flat Top Led Light Lamp Led uv (deg 120-140)Great little LED's. Plus their my favorite color! Good quality, consistent, and purple! Ok so here's what I've learned about these puppies:The Specs as I've Tested:Short Leg: NegativeLonger Leg: PositiveForward Voltage: 2.897VOperating Current: 20mA Typical, 30mA on the upsideOperating Voltage: 3.24V @ 20mA(64.8mW), 3.35V @ 30mA(100.5mW)Max Voltage until more makes it dimmer right away: 3.7V (current draw at this point was 150mA+)(3.8V and its current starts going down instead of up and its brightness immediately drops)Pop Voltage: 5.4V (no more light at all)Reverse Voltage: Maxed out my lab supply at 31V reverse across the LED. No Damage i could detect afterwards.I've tested multiple LED's and burnt a few on purpose to test them. Normal operation for them at 20mA constant current set on my lab supply, they take 3.24V. That's 3.24V STABLE with no fluctuation at all after they warm up for a few seconds on every fresh LED I test. This is my evidence for consistency and quality. If ya don't have a lab supply, that's ok, just grab 3 AA's(4.5V) and a 220ohm(Red-Red-Brown-Gold) resistor in series and ya got a mini black light. It took me 6 of these things to kill to get all this info. Ok, prob didn't need ta kill all 6, but wheres the fun in that?

Not super bright at all
These LEDs claim to be super bright, they are not! There are in fact very dim. They also claim a voltage of 3.0 to 3.2 but at that voltage they do not even light. 3.6 volts or 3 AA NiCad batteries give a very dim output but 3 standard AA batteries, 4.5 volts, will cause the LED to over heat and burn out.

I would still recommend this product
I made a 100 LED matrix and it exceeded my expectations. I ordered 900 more to make a 30 x 30 matrix. the only reason for a 4 star rating is the 2 to 3 week wait and high shipping cost. I would still recommend this product.
