Dairy-Free Delicious

Excellent book for going dairy free
Having been advised by nurse to try a lactose free diet I wanted a self help/recipe book as I do a lot of baking. So many products in the supermarket so it was good to read the authors comments on why she preferred alternative milks or fats for cooking etc.If only she had included recipe for chicken broth as featured in a couple of recipes . I am assuming Chicken stock made with stock cube will be OKFirst impressions are good, well laid out book and I feel more positive about going dairy free.

Mmmmm chocolate cake
This is an excellent cookery book. I have mainly concetrated on baking so I've not made a lot of the savoury recipes yet. I would say that for the savoury meals, you can use a lot of common sense to make dairy free meals. Making a roux for example would be a simple case of replacing dairy milk for soya or another alternative. So far I have made the victoria sponge, chocolate birthday cake and the cupcakes and all have been delicious. The chocolate cake is divine, especially with the coconut cream which is now my go to product (it's heavenly!). I also replaced the flour with gluten free flour and there was no difference in taste.I only have a lactose intolerance, not an allergy, but it really has made a difference, cutting out dairy. I really recommend this book.

"Look Inside" version not what you receive - measurements have been changed
The "Look inside" preview shows grams and millilitres (hence i bought it being in the UK), but the book arrives having been converted to cups and ounces. It's hard enough converting recipes without trying to convert measurements like "A scant cup of plain flour". On the preview version this is apparently 130g. Fully appreciate books need to accommodate different markets but if it was g and ml before then why don't you create two columns with g next to cups and ml next to oz. Then everyone wins and books don't get returned...

A book that lives up to its name.
A wonderful book with a wide range of recipes that the whole family can enjoy, no longer a need to cook separate dishes. I like the fact that the author uses plant based milks and creams and other ingredients that are available in my local supermarket; no more chasing down hard to find ingredients. In just a few days I've tried out the chicken pie and lasagne, both very tasty. For my sewing group I made, brownies, rich and satisfying, chocolate cake, amazing, and the passionfruit friands, warning - you won't be able to stop at just one. I was asked for the recipes. No one could believe these delicious cakes were dairy-free. A book that lives up to its name.

Really pleased with this purchase.
i love cookery books and this is rapidly becoming one of my favourites. Have so far made the lasagne, the granola and the chicken soup and all have been delicious. I love the way the book is set out. It's so user friendly and the pictures really mouth watering. I also like the fact that there are no obscure ingredients and for those that might not be easily found in the supermarket, the author gives suggested sources at the back of the book. Am really looking forward to trying more of the recipes and would highly recommend for anyone else who is struggling to find a really good dairy free cookery book. This is it!

An aptly named and beautiful book!
Adore this book - filled with tempting recipes and great ideas that will be a hit with everyone, not just those on a dairy-free diet. Beautifully designed and illustrated with gorgeous photographs too! The recipes are easy to follow, and the glossary and stockist info is really helpful (especially if you are cooking or shopping for a dairy free guest). So far I've tried the chocolate and blueberry porridge (delicious way to jazz up boring breakfast), the lemon and rosemary drizzle cake (gorgeous fragrant twist on a classic) and the rich, tasty apricot and pistachio loaf. Looking forward to trying more!Would make a great gift (especially for yourself!).

Have bought this book as an addition to a Gluten ...
Have bought this book as an addition to a Gluten, Diabetic & Coeliac one that I bought a little while ago. I can eat most things and do not have any allergies except for fish but I do have an elderly neighbour and some friends who do suffer from the above conditions and all the meals that I have cooked for them has been well received. Can't wait to try out these recipes too.
