Good quality silicone tape
This tape comes with a layer of plastic around it which needs peeling off before the tape can be stuck down. Adhesion is pretty good, i use silicone tape for a variety of purposes around the house, from shoe repair to wrapping around handles for extra grip. While it is waterproof to an extent, I wouldn't use this tape to repair pipe leaks as I have more heavy duty tape for that purpose.Overall I'm very happy with this tape, it's a good width and there's 1.5 metres on a roll so with three rolls included that's 4.5 metres which makes this tape reasonably good value.

Just the on my water pipe
Joined three waste water pipes together in my catering trailer, very good and seems secure and tight.

Doesnt seem useful at all unless Im not using it right
This is either ineffective or im not using it right. It has no adhesive so I thought oh its an amalgamating tape.So I stretched it as you do with that type of tape and wrapped it around expecting it to hold onto its self and it pretty much fell off. Then I thought well is it teflon type tape that you put between threads? So I ran it tightly round a threaded see through pipe, screwed the other side in and did it up.The tape tore all over the place. So Im not sure how it is used at all.It is waterproof in itself in that you can make it wet and dry it like a plasticised ribbon. It doesnt hold onto anything and certainly not itself.
