It mostly depends how thick your drives are. I can feel airflow when the machine is on. **Q: Does te backplane support SAS?** A: the backplane does accept sas drives but the connectors on the rear of the backplane are sata so you need a sas to sata breakout cable for your raid card. **Q: Why is there IDE connector in the case?** A: The IDE is to supply the power to the SATA board.
