Cliff Richard: 75th Birthday Concert [DVD]

Cliffs concert was electric, from the moment he came on sage to rapturous applause & a standing ovation. I had attended Cliff's concert on the 1st leg of his tour in Killarney Ireland. Earlier in day we went up town Killarney for a look around, & who should I see only Cliff coming along amongst hundreds of tourists, a million thoughts..I froze, but managed "CLIFF" he looked at me smiled, shook hands with me said "How are You" moved off quickly, turning around gave me a short wave, the he was gone...my moment of glory, thank you God ..."See you tonite " I shouted after him...& what a nite it was.. what wonderful songs, what moves, what appreciation of all his fans, as he stared the song Golden, which he had dedicated to his fans, what applause to that song, standing ovation, what adulation of his fans ,there were birthday cards & Happy Birthday songs sung.& white balloons thrown by Cliff to us as the lights on stage went out, & Cliff's 1st 75th birthday concert was at an end.. not only did I attend your concert I had the wonderful honour of meeting you personally Cliff, fantastic DVD, I can re live the nite anytime forever,.....God Bless you Sir Cliff ur a true legend..xxx

Not much to complain about with DVD. (My wife and I happen to be in it for a split second, which also helps.) The production is standard for a Cliff live recording, so no surprises there. They do capture something of the electrifyin atmosphere that was there on the night - the hall full of lifelong Cliff fans, and it being Cliff's 75th birthday. everyone seemed ready for this, and this comes throuhg in the DVD.The sound quality is excellent. Though not to everyone's taste, audience sounds are minimized during songs. This does sanitize things slightly, but if it's Cliff's performance you want to hear, then it delivers that very well. Having seen every Cliff live DVD there's ever been, I count this one among the best of them. While it does not have the wild screaming and deafening roar of the teen crowds that characterize and energize his 1960s black-and-white recordings, this one has plenty of atmosphere. The song list is fairly standard, with old hits and a few songs from the new album, it motors along from start to end. if you are a Cliff fan, this is a must-have. If you;re not a Cliff fan, it's probably not the best introduction to his broad range of work. This was a show for the fans - but what a show it was!

It is what it is & bought as a joke present

Wonderful DVD which really showed how much Cliff is loved by the fans. Knowing, as Elton John says, that it was 'a pig of a year' I felt really sorry for him having to put up with the distress caused by the allegations against him. He is a wonderful human being and a National Treasure.I was particularly moved by his opening song 'Golden', absolutely beautiful and the words said it all. It looked to me as if he was really trying hard to keep it together at the end of the song. Also loved 'Ocean Deep'Thought the birthday surprise guest section was wonderful, and Cliff's face when he saw Olivia Newton John come on stage was wonderful. If you're a Cliff fan or a fan of wonderful performers then I can thoroughly recommend this DVD.

frist of all i was not sure to get this but i have to say it is great it really is it is better than i thought and it is brillent the Concert was great with some old hits that Cliff has done before and lots of new songs to and so enjoyalbe to watch and this DVD is so worth buying and the serivce is great becouse i only got this DVD on The day of derlivery on Yesterday (Saturday) and i odered it on friday the day before, the service was exerlant and vrey fast to thank you for my fast Item and i love it thank you. if you like Cliff this is the one to buy

Great music lots of fun

I am a Cliff Richard fan. But did not have this DVD I saw this at a very good price. So I sent for it. I found it tobe very entertaining.

Cliff Richard is as good as his last song from his "Reunited" Concert with the Shadows to celebrate their 50th Anniversary together in 2009. For this concert to celebrate his 75th birthday at the Royal Albert Hall in 2015, he has not missed a beat. His voice is as great, as usual; he has not gotten any older (he said he'll tell us his secret to his youth when he turns 150 ). I thoroughly enjoyed this concert. Several songs were from the past and there were others which he recorded recently - e.g., "Golden". His supporting cast was as good as well. All-in-all, what a wonderful 2 + hours of musical enjoyment. Way to go--Cliff. I hope you have many more birthday concerts to come!

まず内容については素晴らしいですのでクリフファンの方は必携でしょう。再生に関する情報が混乱しているようですので整理します。まずハイヴィジョンにはPALという映像方式はありませんので、アマゾンUKの表記は誤りです。このBDはリージョンABCと表記されており、リージョンオールということで間違いありませんが見ることが出来ない人がいるのは映像方式の違いのためです。このBDには1080 50i（PALではありません）という表記があり、この方式に対応していないプレーヤーでは見ることが出来ません。日本では通常の方式は1080 60i、映画は1080 24pですのでこれらに関してはどの機器でも再生可能ですが1080 50iに関しては正式にサポートされているわけではないようで、機種により対応状況が違うようです。映画は世界的に1080 24pという方式ですのでヨーロッパのものでもリージョンさえあえば再生可能ですが（ボーナス映像などは1080 50iのことあり）、BBCの番組などのテレビ放送などは1080 50iで記録されていることが多いようですので注意が必要です。リージョンフリーのBDプレーヤーなら問題ないようですが、国産の普通のBDレコーダーでも再生可能なものもあり個々の製品で対応状況が違うようです。ソニー製のBDレコーダーはダメなことが多く（全機種確認したわけではありません）、シャープやパナソニックはOKのものもあるようです（これも全部が確認できているわけでない）。カタログなどには明確な記載がないようなので困ったものです。本BDの購入をお考えの人は以上を参考にして下さい。
