Coldstream have recently entered the market for portable gravity water filters with this fantastic new product, the Coldstream Sentry Gravity Water Filter System. They have taken all the product flaws with other leading products on the market and solved them through their innovative approach. 1) Rubber - The Coldstream system has 4 filters which eliminates the need for the rubber grommet which has been the cause of both complaint (because of the rubbery taste) and failure (because of the grommets having defects which allow unfiltered water too pass through. 2) Powerful Filters - The Coldstream filters are extremely powerful at filtering. They are even able to reduce fluoride (up to 97%). 3) Fluoride Removal - the other very important aspect of the Coldstream filters is that they reduce fluoride without using Activated Alumina which exchanges fluorides with aluminium hydroxide. 3) Stainless Steel Tap - The Doulton (British Berkefeld) and Big Berkey all have a plastic tap which is nowhere near as strong and durable as the stainless steel tap which comes as standard with the Coldstream system. If Carlsberg made gravity water filters...
Best gravity water filter on the market they say and I fully agree with that!I've purchased several of these units for family and friends.Love the steel tap and the fact that the filters filter out Fluoride without the need for additional filters taking up space in the receiving tank, as is the case in competitor gravity units.Calcium Phosphate is used in the making of the filters, not Bone Char as someone speculated. (I asked the distributer)Would be nice to have a water height indicator but I do believe this will be sorted come January where an all glass model will be released.I guess I'll be purchasing that too,James

Absolutely excellent.
I will do a full review later when I have time.But for now - I have had this for well over a year.Very happy with the Coldstream. 10/10

They claim in their product description to be able to reduce fluoride (up to 97%). 3) Fluoride Removal - the other very important aspect of the Coldstream filters is that they reduce fluoride without using Activated Alumina which exchanges fluorides with aluminium hydroxide.I have found out that they use Bone Char to do this!Bone char is defined as (Latin:carbo animalis) is a porous, black, granular material produced by charring animal bones.This means that your water is being passed over/through burned dead animal bones. What if you were a vegan, a vegetation let alone certain religions people if it were pork or cow bones!I have thrown this product away and feel disgusted that Osmio Water didn't share this.

Only 3 filters came with mine
I only recieved 3 filters with the system, when it states 4.Quite unhappy considering how much the filters cost, as they only come in packs of 4!

We love our coldstream gravity water filter. It was the best purchase we made last year. The water tastes som much different from the tap water. We recommend it to all our friends.

Great product water tastes good and like that it comes with 4 filters. We used 2 filters and have kept the other two to use in 6 months.
