It does come with pre-filter and end caps.
This filter is for my 99 600 Yamaha Grizzly and seems like a good filter assembly. It does fit in the intake housing but I'm still working on it so I haven't run my grizzly yet. I will know more as I get it running.

Good replacement at half the price
Bought to replace a mangled one in a ‘89 Warrior. Set in place just right, seems to be a cheaper quality plastic, I’ve yet to have it out for a ride after installation but no concerns about it holding up. Best bang for your buck if you’re looking to save money rather than go OEM.
