This hat has a full mesh liner crown for superior ventilation in warm weather. The shaped bill and nylon panels offer protection from the sun.

Well made, great fit, good looking, fast drying. Rear strap comes undone too easily. No hang loop.
This is my second OR Swift cap. These are weightless, quick drying and easy to hand wash in the sink. They fit great, and look sharp. The only downside to these is the strap back fastener. It is designed to separate, so one can unclip it, and re-clip it around a ponytail. Unfortunately, the closure design makes it too easy to come undone unintentionally. So sometimes the rear strap is open and hanging there. The bigger issue with that is that the rear strap is thus an unreliable place to clip this cap to a carabiner or even hang it on a hook. Since it comes undone so easily, you could quickly loose the cap. Sadly, there is no convenient loop or hook to use in its place. Instead, I have to separate the layers of strap webbing attached behind the fixed half of the quick release buckles and work that around the carabiner. It's really fussy and fiddly to get it on and off a biner or clip link--not what you'd want in a hat made for outdoor activity. OR please beef up that rear buckle so it reliably stays closed--or add a low profile loop for easy hanging.

Love love love
I was getting tired of buying new trucker hats every few months due to sweat stains, so I gave this a go. It's my absolute favorite summer hat now. I can sweat all day in it, and it will still look brand new the next day. The mesh liner and the general lightweight construction is also really effective at reducing how much I sweat.

Good overall quality
The extra strap in the back doesnโt stay tucked in very well.

Great hat for hiking and running
I was surprised by how comfortable it is. The band, and the mesh in particular, are surprisingly soft. I expected the mesh to be a little scratchy. It also fits securely without having to tighten it much. Maybe because of the material in the band. Cinched it down just enough to be snug before a run and it never moved or felt like it might blow off.Color wise I went with Pewter/Gray because I saw a few reviews saying the hats didn't match the pictures. Can confirm that this one matches.

A well put-together cap for the outdoors
I forgot my hat on a recent climbing trip to Moab. The sun was ferocious, and fortunately a friend lent me his OR Sun Runner cap. As a testament to how much I liked the hat, I ordered an OR hat immediately after I returned. I didn't want the side panels of the Sun Runner cap (I always bring a bandana, and I unfold it and wear it under my hat if I really need to cover my ears and neck), so I ordered the Swift Sun Hat in fatigue. The hat is typical Outdoor Research quality, which is to say excellent. As with the hat I wore in Moab, I think it will be excellent as a sun hat. It is very light and has a very comfortable fit. The adjustment tab has a quick release buckle, which seems useless to me but is very low profile, so that's fine. I really like the 'fatigue' color, which is a nice olive, light enough to not absorb too much sunlight and without the slightly dumpy army-navy store color common to olive drab. It's casual enough looking to not look like I'm trying to golf at Mara-Lago and neat enough looking that I wore it in the rain to an engineering meeting without looking unprofessional. There is one kind of odd aspect to the hat: the mesh side panels are actually the sides of a complete mesh cap. The top of the mesh cap is hidden because the nylon top panel (the olive part, in my case) is actually a completely separate 'awning' secured at the front and the back of the brim. I think the purpose is to provide a bit more insulation and ventilation between the head and the sun. It makes the hat a tad heavier (it's still really light) and I suppose could theoretically catch on brush if you're thrutching through dense vegetation, but honestly I don't think the difference would be really noticeable. Either the Swift or Sun Runner seem to be good choices.Final analysis, I don't see much to criticize. It seems very practical for hot weather and sun, and probably fine in cool weather as well. It packs well and looks cool. It'll probably end up as my go-to hat for hiking, running, and activities in sunny and/or arid areas. Highly recommended.

Can't even feel it on my head!
I love this lightweight hat! It's so light I forget it's on my head. The mesh panels allow air flow around the head, so you don't sweat nearly as much as with other hats. The light gray color goes with everything too! Best workout / hiking hat I've ever had.

Great lightweight hat
Can't beat this hat, it's understated and works very well. It was a good fit and as described and although it isn't the cheapest out there it was worth it for the lightness of the material and the effectiveness of the sunblocking.

Really light and cool cap
Really light to wear and very cool compared with other caps. Good adjustment and I love the fact it is fully washable. Survived heavy rain and lots of sun on holiday. Best cap I've bought - so good I bought one for my husband as well (in a more masculine colour!)
