Salty Bones FS99 Ruler

I thought I was getting the ruler in the photo that started at zero and had all measurements written out from zero but the first labeled measurement on mine was 8”. Ok. Not the end of the world but when I compared the ruler to a measuring tape, the second and third sections were off by at least 1/8th of an inch. They were not attached in the right spot so the measurements are short. You had one job and failed. If fish and game catches me with a fish that is short on their ruler, showing them this one won’t save you from a ticket. Buyer beware and check the accuracy.

I love this fishing ruler. I use it every time I go fishing in saltwater, whether it be off of the pier or off my boat. This ruler folds down to one foot and extends out to three feet. It is plenty of length to measure whatever species you catch near the shoreline or a little bit off the coast. I love how this ruler has all of the species regulations for Florida because it eliminates the hassle of having a separate regulation sheet or having to look the regulations online. The one thing that could be an issue is the fact that it is not the sturdiest ruler. I could definitely see if someone stepped on it or put too much weight on it, it may bend. All in all still a great product.

Ruler is made out of 3/16” thick foamboard..pretty much same stuff in presentation board from an office supply. Another words, this thing might float but it ain’t gonna last, ya know what I mean? Flimsy and more fragile looking then a 90 year old man walking out of a brothel! To keep it from being useless before I even get a chance to use it, I sandwiched ruler between two wood shims held together with hair ties..that’s right, I said hair ties because I cant find the damn box of rubber bands.. so my daughters hair ties will do for the moment.. My other qualm is the print quality...it’s low-res like 80’s JPEG’s, and pictures of fish are small as the word small. IMHO this should cost no more than $2.50, since it’s made out of more air than matter and probably costs pennies to mass produce. 3 stars because I’m feeling generous

The ruler is 1/8th inch short past the first section so you have to account for that when measuring fish
