The beam of light is very strong and the clip hook makes it easy to hang. I have used it working on a car, in the attic and under a tarp at night and always very effective and hold a charge for several hours of continued use. The different settings give the desired light for different jobs. I have never needed the flashing red light but it would be helpful in emergency situations. The only downside is it doesn't have any method to go straight to OFF but rather the only power button has to be pushed several times so it will go through each light setting.
