Crystal Clip High Performance Clip-on Lavalier Microphone for use with iPhone, iPad and other Smartphones and Tablets

I want this for recording into my smartphone either for song writing or for when I'm trying to decide how things sound but it doesn't warrant get the entire recording rig out.I'm very disappointed actually. It said in the write up that it should give superior quality than that usually found on a smartphone. I used a basic recording app. Sang the same line 3 times, once through the mic with the muffler sponge on, once again through the mic after taking the sponge off, and a third time through my phones internal mic. The first one was really crackly and scratchy in the background, my voice sounded a bit muffled. The second recording actually semed slightly less muffled but not much difference. then the one through my phone was instantly so much quiter with the background, the voice quality was possibly the same but without all the background noises and noises created from movement, it made it far easier and clerarer to listen to. I don't have a particular high end phone either, just a chinese android.I have still given the microphone 3 stars because I understand that i wanted it for a very particular reason and my expectations of what I deem as crystal clarity may be too high. The microphone does work, it may be good as a dictation mic or for recording interviews but if your looking for a high end clear recording device for music or for uploading onto youtube or the internet then I wouldn't recommend.I thought after that it may be a good mic for me to plug into my PC just so I don't have to put my headset on if I decide I just want to use cortana (i occasionally suffer Cortanas stupidity just for my own entertainment, she's worse than the mic), as like a permanant fixture but it couldnt pick anything up, it recodnised being plugged in but seemingly uncompatible. I wouldn't have been able to use it for ggaming or anything though anyway. Definitwly disappointed cos I don't know what else I might use it for.

This is such a cute little gadget for singing and recording yourself on the iphone or ipad. My daughter likes to sing while playing the piano and with this little microphone clipped to her, she can do it hands free. You need to download your own software in order to use it, I used something called Rode Rec but there are plenty out there. The quality of the recording is surprisingly good! You don't appear to have any background noise like you would if you just recorded from your phone without a microphone. The microphone comes with a good quality clip to attach to your clothing and a long cord so you can put the recording device down somewhere near you. I received this product at a discount in exchange for an honest review and I think it is a great product at a great price.

Undoubtedly the frequency response is noticeably better compared to the inbuilt microphones you'd get in various electronic communication devices. I was pleasantly surprised at the difference even when I tested it on a couple of high end phones with expensive hardware.No issues with the clip, it's pretty strong and I wouldn't think it would snap off without a lot of force. In fact the microphone itself is made of aluminium so I would imagine even stepping/sitting on it by accident wouldn't be a problem either.The reason I've given this product 4 stars is because of the pricing. Relative to the quality of the recording, it isn't quite there for me, but still a solid buy. I would have given this a 9/10 but sadly amazon seems to think 5 stars is sufficient for a very delicate rating system.

This is absolutely the perfect solution for my needs. I often write music and find that I use the "record" function on my phone so I can sing or hum a tune that comes in to my head so that I can possibly transcribe it later. The ability to clip this little microphone to my shirt is a huge help and the quality of the recording is much improved over the phone's ability to pick up my voice and tone. I often will sing and play something on my guitar want to record it to be played at a later date. Trying to play the guitar and try to record is a pain but this makes it more convenient. There is nothing fancy about this little gem ... it just works and comes in a nice little vinyl drawstring bag for safe keeping. The microphone comes with a foam "wind muff" (though an extra was indicated in the listening, mine did not come with an extra) that does eliminate breath noises and sound from a fan. I used this mic with my Samsung Galaxy S3 and the sound quality is great. No compatibility issues between my phone and the mic. The mic also works with an extension cord, too, doesn't lose its quality. Just don't make the stupid mistake I did the first time I tested it: I played back my video with the jack still plugged in and of course no sound played because the phone thinks headphones are plugged in. Record with the mic, unplug the mic and play back your video -- sound is great.Also--customer service is super quick and helpful --and are real people not robots. I replied to an email they sent and within minutes got a reply from Paul with helpful trouble-shooting tips that actually worked.

I needed to record a meeting with testimonials and after online researching, I discovered that I could overcome the bad audio quality you get when you are several feet away from your subject. The earphone port on the iPad can be used to plug in a microphone. You must use a microphone with a TRRS plug on it which is what this particular Clip-on Lavalier Microphone has on it. I also bought an extension code with the same TRRS plug and was able to get great audio at a distance of 12 feet from the subject.

iPhone 7 plus users beware... i've had an issue with this Mic and my iPhone 7 Plus on two separate phones. After utilizing this Mic on my iPhone 7 Plus it ruins the onboard Mic and when it is not plugged in the audio cuts in and outs of regular videos that I create. The moments that I am trying to create are now completely ruined and it's a crapshoot on whether or not it will actually record the audio.

Works really well. The plug is a bit too fat to work with the case on my iPhone. It'll work but is loose since it isn't in all the way. Fortunately, I have an extension that came with another product which also had a hole a bit too small (they solved that problem by providing the extension with the product). Don't want to take the case off in case I drop the phone. Other than that it would be a 5.

Works great some of the time. I completed about 20 videos and only about 1/2 had the sound register on the recorder. Could not figure out what was wrong. Time elapsed, just dead air. When it worked, it worked well.
