Bought this for a friend for her 70th birthday. They enjoy these old movies and it's nice to know that Jane Withers who is close to 90 is still alive.

A real rarity!
Of all the stars produced by 20th Century Fox, Jane Withers has for years been the most obscure. Only one of her films, "Pack up your troubles", has been shown on British TV,and only her co-starring role with Shirley Temple in "Bright Eyes" has appeared on video. Her other childhood screen work has remained completely unseen. So the release of this (and a few others) in the Fox Archives of her earlier work is especially welcome. Of course, it's just a "B" picture but it has a good little plot and Jane's on-screen character, a tom-boy with good intentions always getting into trouble, is strangely endearing.I thoroughly enjoyed this and will be ordering the other titles just released. If you like vintage Hollywood, give this a go - I thought Jane was every bit as good as her main rival at the studio, and unlike Shirley's films, this vehicle never lapsed into sentimentality, nor had an adult romance to clutter up the plot. She does a great number too, "Ten Little Indians" at the orphanage to entertain the other children. It's so nice to see something completely fresh for the first time! It's also a very good print, and not region coded so you can order it without worry.
