This listing is for three pieces of natural Desert Cholla Cactus Wood Log by Shrimp Buddy. The logs are approximately 15 cm / 6 inches in length and the diameter varies from just under the size of a 5p coin to just under the size of a 20p coin. Each piece is completely unique as these are natural items. The pieces of wood you will receive may be different than the ones pictured, but they will be within the same measurements. The Cholla wood is left un-sanded and un-treated so you can use it how you wish… This Cholla is great for small animal chews, bird toys as well as for use in your aquarium. Plecos, hermit crabs, shrimp and fish will love it. This Cholla Wood is100% natural, organic and green, from the desert. It contains no chemicals or pesticides, guaranteed chemical-free. The pieces are not sanded, but the cactus thorns have been removed. As Cholla wood is a 100% natural product, the size, shape and colour may vary. This is a natural, untreated product. In our aquariums, we just drop the untreated wood in and have never had any problems. However, we recommend submerging the wood in boiling water for at least 30 minutes before placing in your aquarium to ensure there is no contamination risk. Just like anything else in your aquarium, please ensure regular maintenance. Look our for algae or anything else growing on the wood and remove as appropriate. When submerged, the wood will slowly break down in your aquarium, just like any other piece of wood or plant material (which releases tanins which can be great for your water quality). We recommend changing your cholla wood for a new piece every 3-6 months.

Great for an aquarium
3 decent looking pieces of cholla wood that look almost identical to the advertised picture; takes about 3 days for them to sink. So advisable to pre-boil them and leave in water to soak for a couple of days if using in an aquarium. My cherry shrimp love to hide amongst them
