Coghlans Salt and Pepper Shaker

Great quality product, a little smaller than I expected but it works well.

This lives in my work bag. It is quite small and doesn't leek salt or pepper everywhere when being stored. Due to the way it is made where the shaker openings face in to the screw cap, there is a small cavity between the shaker and the screw cap which does fill up with salt and pepper. Then when you unscrew the shaker, you find a pile of salt and pepper inside the screw cap which can go everywhere or be wasted. Despite that issue, it is a good portable shaker at a good cost.

This is the perfect size for overnight camping or even a backpacking trip. It holds plenty and salt and pepper to supplement meals to taste, and if that is all you use it for it will last 1 person weeks. Obviously less the more people are using it. It will not last as long if you are also using it in cooking, but even so it should last a few days, and if you need larger supplies then there are bigger containers to use. More than likely you will arrive now and again at a café, and it is not difficult to get it refilled for a few pence. It is what it is – a perfectly sized backpacking container. It is light and compact and easy to use and easy to refill, however it is cheap and so is cheap quality. It’s good enough but I would have preferred to pay a little more and have it better made, but it is ok. Just don’t sit or stand on it, or be too strong with the threads. The design allows a little spillage from the sprinkle holes into the central housing. But this could be stopped by inserting a rubber cut out, maybe from a bicycle inner tube, etc.

This is essentially 5 pieces, the two clear holders for the salt and pepper, a joining piece in the middle and two end-caps used to fill and seal the holders. One of the end caps does not screw on as tightly as the other and I fear that it will work loose in transit if I used it. I can tape it closed but that somewhat obscures the amount of salt or pepper left in that side. It's a nice little holder otherwise but is very small and probably wouldn't last very long (depending on just how much condiments you use on your meal). I'd have given it more stars if both ends had sealed tightly.

Returned as not what I expected

Tiny salt and pepper cellar, ideal for keeping in your handbag for everyday 'emergencies', unexpected eating on the go, or taking on short camping trips. e.g. I can now grab some boiled eggs and eat them as a snack on the go. The caps at either end unscrew to reveal the holes through which you shake the salt pepper, and unscrewing in the middle allows to refill. All this feels secure and doesn't seem to leak. Make sure you understand the size and check whether it is fit for the purpose you want e.g. too small for a 2-week family camping holiday. For the purpose it is intended to serve, it seems excellent.

This is a very, very tiny cruet set. It probably holds enough salt and pepper for one person on a weekend camping trip, probably about half a teaspoon in each side. As you might expect for the price, this is not an amazing quality item either, but if size and weight are absolutely critical then it would no doubt suffice. The Light My Fire Salt & Pepper Plus for a couple of pounds more is a far better buy.

I ordered the Coghlans Salt and Pepper Shaker for my very small campervan and they are indeed small and compact but perfect size for the limited space I have. They do not hold much but enough to last me a week, maybe more without having to refill them so ample for my needs. These would be great option for campers who need to carry as little bulk as possible or for days out with the picnic hamper!

Dieser Salz & Pfeffer Outdoostreuer ist sehr robust und genau richtig, wenn man beim Wandern etwas salzen und pfeffern möchte. Ich habe 2 Stück davon mir zugelegt und bin mit diesem Produkt sehr zufrieden. Ich würde ihn wieder kaufen.

This is really small but it held enough salt to last a whole weekend of camping with the family.

Produto super pequeno e funcional. Era o que eu esperava. Plástico bem rígido, fácil de abastecer e de usar. Os furos são suficientes para passar sal e a pimenta moída. Tanto as tampas para abastecer quanto para fechar (e juntar um lado ao outro) são de rosca e ficam bem seguras, não soltam com facilidade. Vou usar para temperar salada na marmita, mas também é um ótimo acessório para quem quer fazer uma atividade ao ar livre ou acampar uns dois dias (cozinhando para apenas uma pessoa) e não tem muito espaço na mochila para itens de cozinha. Pode ser usado também como um acessório de emergência e deixá-lo sempre abastecido no seu kit de primeiros socorros. É tão pequeno que talvez valha a pena, avalie.

La verdad es que por la foto parecía más grande, pero igualmente me ha venido de perlas para mis comidas diarias de tupper. Se rellena con facilidad y dispensa la sal y la pimienta estupendamente. Es compacto, estético y no ocupa apenas espacio, es poco más grueso que una barra de cacao para los labios o algo así. Quizá un poco caro para sus dimensiones, pero estoy satisfecha.
