I've purchased two sets of carcovers.com gust straps in the past few years.. either the elastic degrades and they lose their elasticity, or the clips break. The metal hook ends are covered by a cheap rubber tip that can easily fall off, exposing a sharp end that can scratch your vehicle. These appear to be much better.. fully coated hooks, better clips, better nylon covering, and thicker eleastic core. They'll hopefully hold up better. So far, definitely a better purchase.

I have no idea what some of the negative reviews are for but these clamps and bungee work very well! It's simple and easy to use and when I cover my car and go away for work and come back a week later it's still there nice and snug! Just the way I left it ....

Works as advertised. Would be better if was a three piece and a little bit shorter.

The bungee cords are nice but the clip are cheaply made and one stripped out and broke within a week

There was only one hook on each cord. I cannot do anything with it. it is useless.

When it comes the this type of products it's hard to justify if it's "good" or "bad". Why?....simply because it's a simple rubber band wrapped in a string casing. So, here why I gave it only 2 stars.First, 1 of the 2 straps internally failed within 1 month, why? I don't really know, but what I know is now I have 1 strap only that's still in working order and the other, has a section 1" in length that is still together simply because of the outside casing.Second, the stretch of the straps are to long for most vehicles, I use it for a Audi S6, by no means is it narrow but it's still to long, so I had to tie a knot in the center to shorten it so it would securely hold that part of the cover taught to the car.Finally, the clips, well they are quite good and useful, does the trick, however be aware that the teeth will eventually "chew" its way through the part of your cover that it's secured to due to the size of the "teeth" and sharpness.So my honest opinion, does it work, yes, atleast for a short while in my case.Do I recommend it? I'm torn, but ultimately I would have to say try it for yourself and you will have to make that determination. I know once the strap breaks, I will just buy something more durable and use it with the secure clips that it comes with. So I would say at this present time I can only say, keep your options open, perhaps there is another type or brand that is more/less cost that perhaps will do a better job? You decide.
