Most laptops' internal WiFi do not support an external antenna. So if you are getting a weak WiFi connection, how do you boost the signal by connecting to an external high performance antenna? The miniPCI card is the WiFi card of the size about 5cm x 3cm located inside the laptop. You could easily find it by turning your laptop bottom up, removing two screws followed by opening the lid. The miniPCI card is connected to two internal antennas labelled as "MAIN" and "AUX". Does the job.
No problems. There's nothing else to say really. Used to connect a larger antenna to my crappy Thompson router/modem. Not really sure if the larger antenna has helped to be honest but that's another matter altogether.
