Extraordinary Memoir
Alex Cord’s memoir is an amazing chronicle of a very unique life exploring a wide spectrum of experiences, including the elusive search and attainment of “true love” to the depth of despair coping with personal tragedy. In addition to generously sharing with the reader the events causing his most intimate highs and lows, he introduces a rare insight to his many personal experiences over decades with Hollywood’s elite. He candidly, and bravely, strips away the barrier most of us maintain, and reveals to the reader his most cherished experiences, deepest regrets, what he has learned, and now most values. Alex’s extraordinary gift of storytelling and masterful writing ability will move you to laughter… to a wet cheek… to pensive thought… as he takes you with him through his journey. I know you will find as I did “From Wheelbarrow to Ferrari… and back again” is a really great read that you will not want to put down!

Mr. Viespi writes another outstanding book.
I'm happy that Alex didn't run out of "ink" so he could carry me through this extraordinary memoir. He's an outstanding writer, gifted actor, and award-winning horseman, and historian. I met him first on the set of "Fire" at the Flying M Ranch in the 70s and followed his career these years both on the big screen and on TV, and also at the gun range and a restaurant table or two. He generously opens the doors to actors that we all love and vividly takes us around the world to places through his imaginative eyes. He will surprise you with his storytelling prowess, so order his others as well. You will not be disappointed. They're all 5 Stars...

Honest Memoir
Alex Cord is a gifted writer and his memoir is very well-written. I especially loved his stories as an Italian-American boy growing up on Long Island since I am and did too. However, for me there was too much horse tales and not enough behind-the-scenes stories about his TV and film projects. When he does dish, it is a great read though he protects the guilty by changing the names of crazy actress ex-girlfriends, producers that he hated, etc.

Great Read
Really enjoyed Alex’s memoirs. It was funny, sad and full of great memories of all the people he met along the way. He had an extremely interesting life filled with entertainers, Hollywood Stars and international actors. The movies he made and experiences he enjoyed. Poignant and at times very revealing of a flawed man trying to make the best of his life and reflecting about the decisions he made. His lifetime love of everything horses always a driving force in his life. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am very interested in checking out his other works.

Alex Cord: a real gentleman
I truly enjoyed his book. I met him in the mid80s and we had a warm and interesting conversation over lunch at the Burbank Equestrian Center. He was such an interesting man that I could have talked to him for hours. I’m very happy that he found his forever “Smokey”. He had a respect for women that must have come from his parents. I’m amazed at the things that he accomplished in his life. He is a wonderful human being. I’d recommend this book to everyone, especially romantics!

Lots of name-dropping with interchanges with famous past entertainers. Confusing timeline at times. Got more interesting about 2/3ds through the book.
