Handy for reading in bed
We all know that an iPad's battery will last about ten hours. Surely that is more than enough time to accommodate reading in bed at the end of a long day. I decided it wasn't and here is why.The ten hour battery depends largely on what background power is being consumed. Push and 3G utilize constant battery resources. This can mean that battery power drains at a more rapid pace assuming you do not turn off push and put your iPad in aircraft mode. Since I read in bed at the end of a day if my iPad is not fully charged to begin with, I may not have much time remaining. Furthermore I need to get out of bed and charge the device before I go to sleep or I will awake to the need for added power. Getting out of bed to do this is also a pain. The standard OEM sync cable is 3 feet long. That's not very long. I got this 6 foot cable which enables me to charge while I am reading in bed. It doesn't do anything more than that, but that solves a number of problems.

It provides $5 worth of value...
...but not a penny more.Pros:+ It charges over the connection.Cons:- Length shorter than advertised by *nearly a foot*. It made the difference between serving its intended purpose in my car and not. Now it's just convenient to pass- Its plastic casing snapped apart on its third disconnect from my iPhone. Super glue fixed it, but really? Breaking on the third time?- It DOES NOT DO DATA. Classic 'this connection is not supported by this device' error. An earlier review mentioned USB latencies over long cords, but that doesn't explain why, at home, my 25' USB cord to my USB hub then hub to my iPhone doesn't give me the same problem. If this cost more, I would have returned it. As it stands, the opportunity cost of hassling with RMA's outweighs my $5 expense.

Works with Ipod touch 4th Gen and a Otterbox Commuter Case
I bought this cable to use in my car for the USB Input of my pioneer car radio. It works great. The cord is essentially a long black ipod cord. It has a very similar shape/design to the original white Ipod cords that come with your Ipod. It works with an Ipod Touch 4th generation. It charges my ipod in the car and syncs successfully with my pc via a usb hub. I have no complaints about it. The cord itself is slightly stiffer than a traditional ipod cord, but it's a great black Ipod cord...It is able to plug into my Ipod Touch 4g with an otterbox commuter case no problem.

100% Satisfied
I am very pleased with the purchase that I made through Battery World. The item arrived a day or two earlier than expected. I purchased this item as part of a bundle. It comprises the charging component for a iPhone/iPod cradle. It was perfect for my needs. The cradle accepts only a specific-sized charging cord and, according to some of the reviews, other after market chargers did not work with the cradle. This works perfectly. The extra length allowed the cord to be plugged into a jack that was behind my bed with extra to spare. You will not be disappointed with your purchase.

Good product at decent price
I bought 2 of these. One for my iPhone4, one for my son's 3g. Works great as a charger for both. I dont really use it for data synch but worked fine for me. I had been debating buying it at all because of the comments in reviews about the cable not working. Buying online is great except when you have to do a return. Since it still seemed the best option out there I decided to go ahead and buy a cable. Just in case one didnt work, the price was so cheap I bought 2. Since they both work I was able to use it for myself. My son and I both love the cable and there have been ZERO problems on the 4 or the 3.

JUNK!! Fell apart in 2 months and DOES NOT fit iPhone 4 with Apple bumper as described
At first glance, this product fit my needs for a longer charge cord that was compatible with an iPhone 4 with Apple bumper and would reach from the wall to my couch. The black color was a bonus.Upon receiving it, we immediately noticed it DOES NOT fit with the bumper as described. Though annoying, we decided to just live with it since I rarely charge my phone at home, and it fit our other phone without a bumper.Fast forward about 2 months, and I unplug the charger from our 2nd iPhone, and see part of the plug still stuck inside the phone, with the other part of the plug and cord in my hand. I have had several iPhones and other Apple devices, and have NEVER had a charge cable fall apart like this.I am extremely disappointed with the quality, also disappointed in the incorrect description regarding fitting with a bumper, and was not happy to see a 30 day return policy on this product. Ultimately it's a 6 dollar item so i'll just take the loss and buy another cable from someone else, but I wanted to share my experience with this product.Buyer beware...especially if you use a bumper on your iPhone 4.

Almost perfect
I ordered 2 of these extra long BLACK cords...and the ones I got were white! Hmm. But I do not discriminate, so I actually didn't mind at all. Just thought I should mention it.This cord charges my iPhone 4 wonderfully. I was really looking for an extra long one so I could use it in bed without having to stay in one spot right next to the charger, and it does the job. I can be all the way over on the far side of my queen bed while it is plugged into the wall on the opposite side. Yay for long cords!

Cheaply made, broke immediately. Don't waste your money.
I would have rated this 0 stars if it would have let me. What I needed was a way to extend the length of cable to charge my iPhone and my boys' iPods. I was very excited to get this, and bought 2. However, the adapter that connects to the iPhone/iPod is poorly put together. Even if you carefully grab the black base connected to the adapter to pull it out carefully, the black base will pull away from the metal adapter and expose the wires...and if you pull it enough, the wires will break. One immediately fell apart when unplugged from an iPod. The other pulled away enough to expose the wires, and I tried to superglue that one to salvage it (no avail). Suggest you use the original adapter by Apple(found it to buy on Amazon as: Apple MA591G/A Dock Connector to USB Charge Cable5V DCUSB), and then buy a Belkin F3U134-10 USB Extension Cable (10-Feet). I would rather it work even if it's not necessarily all one piece...at least you have 2 reliable, quality products rather than an extra long but functionless one in your trash can. Do NOT waste your money on this.
