This is a fabulous collection of wonderful poems by one of our greatest living American poets. Highly recommended.

Actually I'm just now ordering the book, andd haven't read it but Louise Gluck is in my opinion one of the most important poets of the century, and Wild Iris is the best book of American poetry written since WWII. I once picked Gluck up at the Airport and got lost and I hope she has forgiven me. Elizabeth McBride

Louise Gluck is a master at her craft. This collection amplifies her ability to gather words and express emotion that takes the reader deep into her psyche. As her other writings this is meant to be read over and over to even begin to grasp her thoughts.The title Vita Nova is just a preview of Gluck's discovery of a new life as the poems reveal her struggle with past and present and what is to come.This definitely gets five stars.

Honestly, I write and I used this book mainly as a learning tool. Of course it's very telling and moving. Her style is her own, fluid, simple and yet so complex.
